I’m having a pour from a 2017 GTS.  We are up and on the road early, so this may be it for the night.

Varied night.. started out with a Russell’s, moved into the KC that i had to transfer bottles on a few weeks (and a few pages here) ago after the cork grenaded, now one last Bulleit before bed.  feeling pretty good with the diversity.

It's been a long day.  Took off work to help my wife prepare turkeys for tomorrow.  Stopped by my son's house to move a treadmill and ended up hanging Christmas lights.  Turned into a 9 hour day.  We still have more lights to hang tomorrow.  Needless to say, I am cooking turkeys right now.  It is going to be a late night.

Wheater Wednesday. Started with Rebel 10 Year, going to finish with Larceny BP.

Good day with family and friends. Kicking back with a pour from a newly opened bottle of Blanton’s. Cheers!  🦃

I had to have some Turkey on Thanksgiving Day, so I opened up an ‘89 CGF. Of course the cork broke. BT cork fits perfect. Absolutely some of the greatest bourbon ever made.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Just a wee dram of Blanton's Gold before a wonderful Oregon Pinot Noir with the turkey.  Yummo!  🥳

just a small pour of WTKS for a post dinner drink last night while I sat around in a food induced laziness on the couch watching football. I also had a 2020 Bourbon County stout prior to dinner.

Rare Breed as my usual WT representative on Thanksgiving.  Also flew through pours of Eagle Rare, EWSB, MM46 Cask Strength, and also threw in an after dinner pour of Marie Duffau Hors d’Age Armagnac out by the fire.

Has anyone tried the Jim Beam Winter Reserve? I'm reading some good reviews of it. I don't usually purchase anything under 90 proof, but I might make an exception if this is really that good/interesting.

WT MK Revival which has become my annual Thanksgiving pour. I’ve enjoyed each successive pour more than the last and I thought the initial pour a few years ago was pretty damn good!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Broke down and opened a 1993 Blantons SiB. A customer picked it up in Tokyo last year. Wondered how good it would be as back then bourbon wasn't moving much here. They were shipping bourbon to new markets, and Japan was emerging. Back then it was labeled Blanton and had no initial on the stopper. Also was concerned about the  cork. Well my concerns were justified as the cork fell apart. Will strain out today BUT the juice is absolutely fantastic. A flavor bomb. The best I have ever  had.

Rented a cabin for my parents & kids near Sevierville, TN. Having a grand time. Shot sporting clays for 5 hours yesterday. I do so miss brisk weather.

We brought an ECBP "Y barrel" from the HH tour, Bookers Reserves, and a High West Double Rye (pre 2018). All delicious stuff.

My dad's family is from Kingston, TN.  Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville are in the neighborhood.  It is brisky in West Central Indiana tonight.

Started off with KC9 while watching the Old Oaken Bucket Game (Purdue-IU) before my wife turned it to the Kelce Christmas movie on Hallmark. 😀 No issues, IU was ahead 14-0 on a snowy evening.  Michigan beat #2 Ohio State 13-10.  IU beat Michigan but was soundly beaten by Ohio State.  WTF?

I am going to end the evening with KC9 since the Hallmark movie is focused on the KC Chiefs.

Awesome.  I bet it is awesome.  So, was it barreled or bottled in 1993?

I did a Sbsbs of all the '24 ECBPs (the first year they're all less than 12 years old. To me they're pretty even. Then I poured a C923, which is certainly better than the 24s

It's a beautiful area. My son is a manager on a construction site in Oak Ridge and lives in Knoxville. He's gone native, big-time. A certain young lady has accelerated that process....

I watch very little football. Mostly just when the kids are around. I don't know much - but I do know a case study for incompetence when I see it. 2 easy field goals missed. 2 snaps botched. A beautiful interception followed. by not so much as a 10 yard gain. The same play order (rush-rush-throw) over & over. What an absolute debacle. If a team ever deserved to lose, it was the one the Buckeye's fielded yesterday.

Oh well. Thanksgiving has been grand in your old haunts. It's beautiful and dead silent but for nature doing nature. And crisp, I do miss the seasons.

Interesting choice of a Hallmark movie!

I had a 'last pour' of Barterhouse from a bottle that was under half full.   It's very nice whiskey for how OLD it is; but, I never went back for any more based on the price.   The rest of the Barterhouse went into a 'solera' bottle I've started, to help me eliminate some bottles from the inventory.   This 'blending bottle is one of the OLD Fitz decanters of recent vintage.   A good use of very attractive bottle, IMHO.   Only top shelf stuff has gone into this one, and it now has only about 3-ounces of remaining space.   The blend in there now has liquid from five different distillers, so it may turn out less than stellar.   We'll see in a few weex.
