Kepler
Another pre-dinner pour. ECBP C922 in my glass now. Wonderful. Been too long since I poured myself an ECBP...

Hung Christmas lights on the outdoor trees. I will work on the house lights tomorrow. Enjoying a pour of Stellum Lyra Single Barrel CS store pick. Best I can tell is it is 5-6 year old MGP. It is a pretty solid bourbon for the price and similar to other similarly aged MGP NDP bottles like Backbone. I'm a big fan of Stellum store picks. Solid MGP bottles.
Kepler
I get it. I'm the only one drinking bourbon on a Saturday night. The ECBP was awesome, but this WFP bottle is getting dangerously low, so it is my next target. Plus, it just tastes amazing. WFP in my glass again.

mbroo5880i
More Stellum while watching the Lions-Texans game. The Texans uniforms are crazy. Their helmets remind me of Christmas tree bulbs. I have never seen anything like it. I am rooting for the Lions but so far the Texans look to be playing better. I don't care because I have more Stellum.

Yummo! Nothing says diet like St. Louis ribs. I guess you had cole slaw instead of BBQ Baked Beans or Sweet Potato Pecan Puddin. Cole slaw? Really? Richnimrod
Over the last week+ I've been looking through my 'stored' bottles in order to limit the ones taking up "more than their share" of needed space in those storage areas. (Less than desirable pours - good for mixing only; and/or lower than half-full bottles that should be emptied.) From time to time I'll pull out a bottle of something I want to pour, and put away something else, to make space on the 'active shelves'. The result is too damned many bottles that get shunted back and forgotten. Not all are 'less-than-stellar brands, some of these are perfectly fine pours. Sorry, that was my long-winded way to say I've resurrected to the active shelves a half-full bottle of Jim Beam Distiller's Cut, and have been enjoying it very much. At 100-proof, and non-chill-filtered, along with being aged over 5-years, it strikes me as a kinda "Booker's Light". I haven't seen this on shelves for a good while. Too bad. It's a very decent pour. I don't know whether or not Beam will ever send more of it out; but, if so, I recommend it. If not, I have a couple remaining unopened bottles backed up.

ThirstyinOhio
Cracked open a 2024 George T. Stagg and I found it to be delicious! It’s fruit forward but with enough dark cocoa and oak to keep it all balanced. I think it’s the best GTS in the last several years.
Anwalt
I've been looking for this bottle for quite awhile. I finally managed to trade for it. It might be my favorite 4R ever.
Anwalt
So I was travelling for a bit. And just happened to visit a lot of wine-loving friends. So wine it was for the daily grog ration, with very little whiskey consumed. I did have some fun with Blanton's & charity. I bought 72 Glencairns with the charity's logo. And set up a tasting of Blanton's, Gold, SFTB 120.2 and SFTB 134.4. We had a lot of fun. Everyone was surprised by how much better the Gold & SFTB were when compared to the standard bottle. Most prefered the 120.2. A few the Gold. And the fewest the 134...with one newer guy saying "punch me in the face" each time he tried it. We managed to finish all 4 bottles between 10 of us (everyone was required to spend the night at the hotel), and raised $4,500 for the charity. We kept the glasses for next year and these guys are spreading the word. I'll set up a new tasting (recommendations welcome), hoping to get 16, that should equate to about 1.5 oz per pour x 4, so 6 oz per person. It'd net the charity $7,500. Fun.

Anwalt
I haven't had any Barrell products in a spell. Thought I'd start working on a few. I've always liked them and their prices are getting better....this one tastes Willett sourced. But it's well-blended, the Willett funk is not over-powering. Anwalt
That Barrell is quite good. I wish I'd bought more than one. Still trying to figure out the sourcing. A pleasant hot cinnamon finish, but not too hot.

However, I have had some Makers 46 CS store picks that have been quite good. I actually like standard Makers 46 CS better than other variations that I have tried. markandrex
My oldest son and my future DIL just left after a few days with us. It has been great to have them around. Now it is returning to normal life, afternoon naps and a very quiet house (not certain how I feel about that). We are looking forward to seeing them and her family at their lake house outside of Atlanta for Thanksgiving. WT101 in the glass after a Chinese take-out dinner.
