Tonight I am having a pour from my memorial bottle, PVW 20 to honor a hero we laid to rest today.

I hope this bottle last's me a long time.

I can't think of a more fitting pour! I'll raise a pour in honor as well!

In my book he was a hero even while he was alive, as are all but a tiny fraction of law enforcement officers in the USA.

Please pass along my respects to his family and fellow officers.

Here's to you, Deputy Cox. I just decided to switch from Rock Hill Farms to 2002 George T. Stagg in your honor.

Yours truly,

Dave Morefield

Continuing on my forgotten bottles quest, I pulled a Kentucky Vintage out of the Box o' Bottles tonight. It was bottled in 2005, about 2/3 full, and when I had last had some I felt it wasn't a favorite of mine - there was a bit too much menthol.

I'm happy to say that it has improved since its last pour. I don't even notice any menthol now.

Eagle Rare 10 y/o 101 proof. The best bourbon I've ever had that is sold in a plastic 1.75 l. jug (when it was till being sold at all).

Dave Morefield

Isn't it tough buying something in plastic? Just doesn't seem right.

I didn't post at the time but raised a glass of VWFRR to your departed buddy all the same Todd.

Yeah may that bottle last you YEARS!!!

Hmm...last night. A little pinch of ER 17. Maybe some Saz tonight, or maybe WLW, or maybe Old Pogue, or maybe Vintage 17, or maybe......

Last night was a rye night. First a pour of Rittenhouse BIB then a Saz Jr to finish off the night.

I'm still on my bottle of Kentucky Pride.

But I think by the weekend it will be gone.

I will then search for the empty bottle support group thread.

Tonight I finished the last couple pours from my open bottle of Weller Antique along with a nice big fat rib eye.

It's unseasonably warm so I've been able to grill out the last couple nights.

I'm now working on a Wild Turkey RB Manhattan. 2 1/2 oz. bourbon 3/4 oz. martini and Rossy sweet vermouth, 1/4 teaspoon maraschino juice two dashes bitters and cherry.

Last night I had a pour of one of my favorite bourbons, Evan Williams 12 year old. I had intended to go on to something else after that, but it so hit the spot I had a couple more. I did have small pour of Thomas Handy Rye just before bed.

Tonight my first pour is Lot B. Wonderful tonight. Just poured my second. Is that a hint of Black Cherry?

Man, you're tempting me -- I have a sentimental attachment to the Weller Special Reserve, which was my first 'favorite' bourbon. If only I didn't already have too many bottles open...:skep:

Well tonight, since my weekend has started (4 day weeks), I poured a couple of generous shots of Old Charter Proprietor's Reserve (Heritage Collection), folllowed by a few ounces of Eagle Rare 10yr 101 (New Orleans), and then a couple more shots of Old Weller Antique 107 (Heritage Collection). Good nite.

I can't get enough of that rye. A Saz Jr then a Saz 18 2006.

Last night I followed the Lot B with a pour of Saz 18 and followed that with some Blanton's Straight from the Barrel. Lovely night.

Lucky me...found a bottle of Lot B at a Fredericksburg, VA ABC store on my drive home. I stopped for gas, spied the store in the shopping center and figured, what the heck, it couldn't hurt. I'm sipping on a glass as I type. Nice start to the weekend.
