Thanks Ed (that must have been during my blue period on the Board :)). Good notes.

On the side of the bottles are bottle numbers and the total bottles produced. Mine are 301/2238 and 305/2238...the reduced number of 2238 (instead of 3000) that OscarV wrote about in previous post.

I was curious about the proof...I was expecting 110... but my bottles are both 52.4% or 104.8 proof.

Unfortunately I've got to wait a few days before tasting as I know the damage an open bottle of bourbon can do to clothes in a suitcase (despite being tied up in a plastic bag...) - I fly home Saturday, so I'll give notes then.

I've got bottles 481 & 485 - different barrels. 481 is 7-1G and is 53.9% and 485 is 7-1H and is 54.7%.

If I can convince the wife - I might go back and try to score a couple more bottles from different barrels and try to pick out the differences...

so far that's:

7-1G-53.9%

????-52.4%

add to the list as you post them

Wonder if it's gotten to Chicagoland yet. I'm supposed to be called by my friends at Binny's when it arrives. Guess I know what I'll be doing during free time at work tomorrow and hopefully stopping for on the way home.

And two different listings on fleabay right now. One is $119 "Buy it now". I guess they become "collectible" the day after they show up on the shelves. That ebay disclaimer is such a crock. But that's another thread.

Not yet to Chicago Binny's or Sam's. Supposedly soon at Binny's. Can't believe they're on ebay already.

Oh, I can. If there's one thing I've learned in the last 4 years in Bourbonia, there are parasites lurking, seeking to enrich themselves at the foolhardy's expense.

I enriched someone for a bottle of Pappy 23; at least it was signed by Julian. But the 4R isn't even fully distributed yet. Fool me once,.....

***********CAUTION**********

*****Extreme Bragging Ahead*****

Ok, so I poured a fresh quart of oil into my Detroit Iron and I rolled out of Napoleon at 3:00am.

It was 349 miles to my destination in Lexington KY.

I had a full tank of gas,

no cigarettes,

it was dark and I was wearing sunglasses,...

...HIT IT!!!

Tony AKA ACDetroit, who BTW is the top dog of the Michigan Bourbon Hounds from the three-one-three, sniffed out, flushed out and cornered 30 bottles of the FR 120th. I saw his point and took up the trail.

I rolled into the place at 9:02am, slobbering and tail wagging.

I bagged 'em, yeah all 30 bottles. (Tony I wiped the slobber off)

Now I gotta get back to the Mitten.

After coffee and putting the leash on myself for a "walk", I gassed up and blew the place before the Pound could catch me.

I snuck back into the doggie door at Napoleon at 3:05pm.

Tail wagging big time, I hurt it on the door jam coming in.

But no ATF Agents on my trail, I always cover my scent.

I whistled for Tony to fetch the camera, pics coming tomorrow.

Here's what we scored.

Now we know why the Hound is mans best Friend! Oscar has one mean sniffer!

One Part Retriever

One Part Coon Hound

One Part Spitz (PFT-ting)

Nice work my friend! I have photo equipment packed, a small package for you. I've put the Cone around my neck to keep from lickin myself after your post! Hope it doesn't fill up with slobber tonight in anticipation of tomorrows visit!

Michelle and I are driving separate in the morning so I'll be on my way after church.

You have the game bird of your choice ready for sampling and I'll wear tail protection for the door jam!

See you tomorrow!

AC
