Not sure if I can call it passed up but I did leave them on the shelf. I ran across 2 bottles of "Kentucky Silk" today, never seen them before so I inspected the bottle says natural flavors on it but it was 60 proof? Bottling was from Frankfort but something about Ohio on it as well, whatever the case may be I left both of them on the shelf. I rarely drink 80 proofer so 60 was way out of the question.

I'm probably going to kick myself for this later but I passed on 7 2009 GTS and 6 2009 WLW's for $63 each. They also had a case of VWFRR for $44 a bottle. Hopefully there will still be some left in a couple weeks once I have some time to rebuild the bourbon fund.

Well we pay $100 on top of the $44 you could have had the VWFRR for so now go and punch yourself in the arm 100 times and then go back and get those bottles.

2006 Eagle Rare 17yo. It's priced at $60 but I've never tried it so..... Feedback anyone?
I have one in the bunker but I've stopped buying the ER17 as I don't know that I would put them on the same plane as the WLW and GTS seeing as they are the same price. I would look for those two first as you can always cut the GTS down to 90 proof and have essentually the ER 17.

No Sir, GTS and ER17 are different, mashbill wise etc.

Why are Eagle Rare and George Stagg essentially the same whiskey?

They are not.

Eagle Rare 10yo 101prf and GTS are the same, but both ER 17 and SB are a different animal.

Oscar,

I remember Ken Weber telling me GTS and ER17 were both meant for C of K

(same mashbill) but they aged in different warehouses. Now I don't know if that holds true now, since C of K hasn't been around for some time. But I assume they still age in different warehouses.

Well, they've gone up to $80 per bottle here, so I'm not inclined to buy ANY of the BTAC (alas, it's now become a 'collectible'!). However, if I had my choice, I'd plop down the money for the ER17 (at least, in a 'good' year) before I would Stagg.

Yeah, you could say I'm not swayed by reputation:shocked: -- I like what I like!

There were 2 bottles of PVW 20 yr old. I bought one. Should of bought both. And someone got the only bottle of rye that was supposed to be held back for me. Matt, you wouldn't know anything about that would you? lol

I left an OCPR on the shelf at $42.40. The store owner wasn't honest with me. He acted like that was the minimum price when it has not been listed in the state book for several years. Obviously I don't have that burning desire to further build the bunker.

Today I passed up a few bottles of note, three bottles of Vintage 20 something (I don't remember) and a VWFRR. I may end up going back.

I passed up 10 bottles of Lot B that recently appeared on the shelf (actually I was only going to get one).

The story has a happy ending though - I passed up the Lot B, because there were 3 bottles of Pappy 15 hidden behind them still wrapped from shipping. Pappy 15 was only $47.99 compared to the Lot B @ $42.99. I immediately grabbed all 3 and drove off with a smile on my face.

I may still end up going back for the Lot B...

I actually paid for 2 half gallons of mid 80's Old Taylor only to notice on the walk tot the car it was 80 proof not the 86 I thought it was. They are back on the shelf from which they came. That's not to say the eighty proof juice is not good, just not what I was looking for. I did also pass on 4 half gallons of mid 80's Old Forester 86, also not my cup-o-T!
