Normally that isn't the case (at least not here in Bowling Green.) I often find it cheaper out of state -- even in control states. I just happened into a small store hoping to score some dusties and found it priced well. Normally the Pappy 15 is around $75.

Got lucky today and found a store in a small town with 3 bottles left from their Fall 2010 allocation still and got them at Fall 2010 prices. Now I'm preparing myself to pay higher prices in the coming weeks. So it goes though.

Lost Pollito may know best but if anyone else knows feel free to answer.

When Binny's receives its allocation will any of the 15 or 20 actually be put on shelves? I called the whiskey hotline and was told I could have a bottle reserved but the guy wasn't sure it would ever actually be put on the shelves. Chicago is a few hours away for me and I wouldn't mind driving up if it will be on shelves and I could get a few but I don't want to drive up for just 1 reserved bottle.

Spring Allocation:

PVW 15 for $75

PVW 20 for $120

The PVW 23 was left on the shelf at $320.

It is interesting. The local BT Rep and/or distributor seems to be telling the liquor stores that there is no Colorado Spring allocation. The stores are being told that "some website is spreading a rumor.".

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to edit my own post. To be clearer...that is no spring allocation to Colorado...rather than no allocation to Colorado Springs. Darn lies, either way.

Saw some 23 today for $240, I believe -- two bottles. At a place that wanted $80 for the 15 and $110 for the 20. (I paid $90 for the 20 at a different store a week and a half ago.) Struck out in my quest to find the rye on my quick lunchtime expedition.

I have a question for anyone that shops at the various Binny's in Chicago. Will they actually put any Pappy 15 or 20 on the shelf or is it only available by reserving a bottle? I called the whiskey hotline and was told I could reserve a bottle which would be great, except Chicago is a 4 hour drive. I dont mind making the drive but if I'm going to do that I would like to be able to pick up a few bottles of it instead of just 1.

Do you reserve through the hotline, or through an individual store? (AFAIK, product has to be kept at individual stores and can't be transferred from store to store.) If the latter, you could reserve through multiple stores, no? There are at least five Binny's locations within a 10-mile radius of my house....

1 week ago, a retailer friend of mine was told by the distributor that he was getting 3 bottles of Pappy 15 in the coming weeks.

Just today he was told, "Sorry, but everyone's allocation was cut. You'll now be getting 1 lot B, 1 15yr, and 1 23yr. As I was set to receive one of the 15s, I was as pissed as he was.:hot: :hot:

I realize its not being released this spring but what are the typical prices on the VWFRR? Ive never seen it in a store before so don't know how much it typically goes for.

My store here in DSM got the 10, 12, and 15 in on Friday. Methinks they got 12 bottles of each.
