A facebook poster asked about rumor's of the spring release for the 15yr being the last ever and it going to the orvw15 bottle, the answer to the question from their official poster for the distillery said....

I talked with Julian and Preston at WhiskyFest and asked specifically about a transition from Pappy 15 back to ORVW 15 (and if you would be able to tell old ORVW 15 from the new - a concern for me since I have a few bottles of the old). They both stated unequivocally that they were not planning any change in the 15 YO product line at this time.

OK, no change to the bottling names/labels.

I guess the other doesn't concern me as a change since I've not considered that the Pappy 15 was 100% SW since 2007 when Julian told me at that time they had released some Pappy 15 with BT product (posted here at that time).

Thanks for confirming this publicly Joe...I personally think that once they switch to BT juice it won't be my desert island bourbon if the ORVW 10/107 is any indication. I have a 2004 ORVW 10/107 open as well as a 2010 ORVW 10/107 and those bourbons definitely aren't from the same profile. While the 2010 isn't bad it's a notch below the 2004. I'd guess the 2004 is Bernheim and the 2010 is BT.

The 10/107 would make an interesting tasting given how different the flavor profile seems to be over the years,,,, based on folks input. I just had the 2006 which was excellent...

Right. The ORVW poster on facebook made a comment (later taken down) that this year will be the last of the PVW 20. I'd thought they'd misspoken, and that this year will be the last of the PVW 15, in its current incarnation.

For what it is worth. the ORVW comment that this is the last year for the 20 year is still on the page...

It was posted on Feb 18 in response to a Feb 17 post by "Chai Vang."
