squire
Virginia Gentleman, NAS, 40%. Everything about it is just a bit less so, nose, taste, body, after tones, sort of Bourbon writ small, good balance though.

squire
Moving to Henry McKenna, looking for something bolder to follow the Virginia Gentleman and this choice fits the bill.
squire
Old Crow Reserve, a pleasant surprise here, light color, good viscosity and body, clean medium flavor, some sharpness around the edges, more depth than I was expecting, not bad for a youngish four year old. smokinjoe
Just going with an after dinner pour of Early Times 354 Bourbon. The Jack Daniel'sishness banana thing is jumping out at me, again. It's light, and certainly not a challenging whiskey. The fruitiness has me thinking this might be a very nice Summer pour. For a low cost, 80 proof, but, drinkable bourbon...this ain't bad. bgast1
I'm new here and haven't read this thread too much yet. My first bottle of Bourbon since developing a taste for whiskey a couple of months ago was Makers Mark. I liked it OK but read bad reviews on it. Tonight my second bottle of bourbon is Wild Turkey 101. I started off drinking it neat and enjoyed it ok but felt that it would probably last me all night, so I put some ice cubes in it. Very good that way. I was previously drinking the Makers Mark with ice cubes and water and I liked it that way but I am trying to drink it a little closer to neat so that I can discover the intricacies in the flavors of different bourbons that I try. I also found that I like the smoky flavor of scotch.

nor02lei
I did have Beam 6 grains before dinner yesterday, ORVW 10/107 2002 with the hazelnut cake for dessert and OGD 114 as a night cap. All tasted good, but a bit surprising the wheater came out a bit short this evening. Leif

It's from someone who has similar tastes to mine or B. if it's something new or expensive that I am considering buying.Anyway, I'm current enjoying som 10 y/o EW 1789. It's like a grassier EC 12.
