jfw
Started with a EWSB 99 that I had open.Moved to a PVW 15 (2009)Then finished off a PHC Golden Anniversary. Why are the Parker's so good and the other stuff from HH so mediocre? I'm partial to the wheated and the golden anniversary but all of them are good. JayMonster
My Devils lost, I have no need to be up too early tomorrow, and I need something to stand up to a good Maduro... Seems like a KCSB night to me.
BradleyC
Some Willett 18 yr. tonight. How is the Willett 18 year? I've seen that locally, but the price has been so out of line that I haven't even considered it. I can pretty much get 3 bottles of Stagg (also 18 year) for the same price. Albeit Stagg is not readily available, either is this one. The Willetts in my area have generally been priced above the rest of the country. I guess my real question is, is there something special about this whiskey to justify the incredible price tag?
clingman71
I got engaged tonight. We've known we were getting married for awhile, but tonight was the official bended knee giving of the ring. In the midst of the celebrating, I purchased two Single Oaks, #8 & # 167. One rye, one wheat, both fantastic. I have a feeling that the whiskey will be flowing freely this weekend. DaveOfAtl
Had dinner at my uncle's house last night. He's not a bourbon drinker but is given bottles of booze all the time by friends and client, which he never drinks. A bottle of Wild Turkey 12 yo with a split label caught my eye. First time I've had that . . . it was great. So, is this an import? I've done enough searching this morning to determine it's not something I can go buy at my neighborhood liquor store, but I'm wondering where he got it (he doesn't remember). hectic1
I'm assuming, then, that the price per bottle when you do a barrel purchase is a lot less? You could say that I guess but there are other factors at play as well.
