Curtisc84
Out of all the older bottles from this same source (BMH/Vintage/Hirsch/etc... The V23 was always the most tired tasting and a bit too woody for my tastes.A bit?! I find that its like gnawing on an oak stave.

jeanraulmitchell
I passed on a few '12 4roses smbtLE even with a discount. I have a little left from the bottle I bought a month ago but I am not sold on it enough to buy another. I have spent over $1K the last month on bourbon and rye. I think my compulsion needs another thing to focus on.

squire
It was recently brought to my attention my neighbor across the State line has legalized Sunday liquor sales so we were discussing driving over to Tuscaloosa for lunch and some shopping. As a precaution I looked up the Alabama Liquor Control Board list of approved for sale Bourbons and guess what . . . didn't see a darn thing I wanted. awachatz
Passed on some 130 month IW Harper for$85. The only IW Harper that I am interested in trying is the 15 year, but doubt I will ever find any again. The last place that I knew where one was at, sold the bottle. Guess I should not have hesitated.Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
compliance
Passed on Lot B for $65 in my hometown. No other bottles of interest in the area that I've seen so far so I was kind of surprised that was there.
Lazer
I have a feeling you're about to close the thread and very few will read this.... Anyway, passed on a dusty row of about six bottles of Ezra B. SB. 99 proof 12yr. for $32ish. I'm broke and these bottles have been sitting in this store for a few years, I figured they'll still be there in 2013.

I hesitantly bought it on vacation here in FL when I could find no FR1B, and the clerk muttered out of the corner of his mouth that I could return it if I didn't like it. It tasted like unremarkable EC12 with any trace of personality removed. And it was $38.99. I returned it the next day for FRYL, my first one. A GREAT bargain at $17.99!I think it's safe to say that when you buy a LuxCo product, at least a good 35%-50% of the cost is going to the label. SDpappy
Went to buy a port at local shop in Encinitas and they had some LotB on the shelf (didn't bother asking the price as their bourbons are crazy priced. Rittenhouse 100 Rye is $39. I asked them how much they ended up selling the Pappy 20 and they told me $500. I just smiled and wondered if I overpaid for my Colheita, which I did... I always want to support local but when they charge crazy prices, I'd rather support Costco
