This morning my wife left from Detroit headed to Valparaiso(sp?) IN, to visit family for the weekend, unfortunately I could not go. About 4 hours later I got a txt from her asking "which Weller did you say wanted really badly?" I said "the 12 year old" (as they don't sell it in MI and I have never had it) she said "is this the one?" and txted me a picture of the 12yo, I said "HELL YES! Where did you find that and please buy me one?!?!" she said "whew I bought 2, see you Sunday" now I really can't wait for her to come home!!

Awesome wife! I especially love the fact she grabbed 2.

so apparently the chase is on. many places have already sold out; one small local liquor put out a *#@* tweet and sold out in an hour. I'm in 2 lotteries and would love to get a rye.

this is a new one for me. they also had Lot B.

Picked up a bottle of Rare Breed. Haven't had it in awhile and decided to go with something I don't normally buy. Last I remember it was a great bottle of bourbon. Hopefully that's still the case!

found BMH in the city yesterday (via phone) and was going to get it, but there was toooo much traffic, so aborted. went in today to grab it and they had several on the shelf, so I grabbed an extra.

casually asked about Pappy and was informed that another store had a 23, so off we went to grab that, too. Still praying to find a rye and another 20.....

Nice grab on the 23 yr. It is great stuff, just a little pricey for my budget.

This year I was only lucky enough to get a VWFRR. Missed out on the PVW15, which is the only other one in the line that is worth the money (assuming at state min.).

I live in Washington state, the Land of Horrible Liquor Prices and Generally Poor Bourbon selection. As such, when The Party Source ran their Cyber Monday, $15.00 flat-shipping promotion, I stocked up on cheap and mid-priced stuff.

- Buffalo Trace

- Very Old Barton 100

I used The Party Source $15 shipping as well to pick up some stuff I can't get locally and have never tried, primarily some VOB 100 and AAA 10 Yr. Also picked up a Larceny and some Irish I don't see around here. My bunker is already overflowing, but what the heck. Looking forward to trying these.

I really like the JJB barrel 45 savagehenry. Its sweet, smoky, and woody. Delicious. I'm a real fan of the Bowman, and this one doesn't fail.

I have been through one bottle already and thoroughly enjoyed it. When I saw that $15 shipping, I knew I would soon have another. I was fortunate last month to grab one of the few JJB 18 year barrel strength bottles and find it just as enjoyable as any GTS I have had.

Hey, Everyone!

I'm back for the time being, anyway. This semester has been a bitch and left me with little time for any leisure pursuits. I've missed hanging around and look forward to catching up on the goings-on around here while on break!

That said, I haven't been totally idle. Managed to pick up 2012 GTS, WLW, & PHC; FR '09 Mariage; CEHT Barrel Proof & Small Batch; and tracked down a paper-label W12 for the collection.

Looking forward to some chats!

Not me, but my wife purchased a bottle of William Larue Weller for me as a gift for our anniversary. Lovely woman.
