peb
My wife and I did three distillery tours yesterday, and I walked away with a bottle from each. Four Roses 10 yr 4 mo OBSK, Russel's Reserve Single Barrel, and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. I had a real hard time justifying the Elijah Craig, but my wife told me that if I didn't buy it she would. I have enough open at the moment, but these three will replace the open bottles as they empty.
HighHorse
Was the EC barrel proof the 12 year old? That price is somewhat more justified simply because it's so limited and only available there at the gift shop.

WAINWRIGHT
Most of you know that I can be long winded at times. Here I go again. To make a short story long, I've been putting in some long hours at work lately, plus I got my Xmas bonus this week. My wife told me to go ahead and treat myself to a couple of bottles of bourbon I've had my eye on for a long time. (Yes she's a keeper.) After work, I headed to a store near me, and picked up a couple of semi-dusty 1.75's of Old Forester BIB. They've been sitting on the shelf of this store for ages, and I've been contemplating on whether to buy them or not. Yeah, I paid a little bit too much, but what the heck? It's good, I really like it, it's not made anymore, and even though OF Signature is 100 proof, and a pretty decent bourbon, it just ain't the same. After Weller's, my favorites are BIB's. :yum: Cheers! Nice pick up Joe on the OF BIB's and it sounds like you didn't waste any time to crack them open either, atta boy!

That price is somewhat more justified simply because it's so limited and only available there at the gift shop.Yes, it was the 12 year Elijah Craig. I really like the standard 12 year, but by my calculations (considering proof alone) this bottle should be about $40. Maybe $50 considering the typical gift shop mark up. But who knows, it might be great and worth the premium. If not it will be a one time purchase.

KySalesRep
Just coming back from FedEx where I received a package from a member who was nice enough to help me track down a 2012 GTS and WLW. Thanks again, can't wait to try these!
mosugoji64
Went to TPS over the weekend and picked up some Larceny, CEHT SmB, and several misc. gift bottles for others. The CEHT is my 2nd bottle of SmB and I'm hoping it's an indication of what BT has in store for their everyday Taylor. Very tasty and keeps me coming back for more. Kalessin
I was out searching for 4R1B 2012 LE, but didn't find any. Instead I found two 4RSmB 2012 LE (this makes one open Small Batch and four in the bunker; I love this whiskey, but this is where I get off this train...)While in the same store, I snapped up an EWSB 1999 vintage, on sale. I'm planning a bourbon tasting in January, and this bottle will be attending.

Crowes
Bought my first bottle of Baker's last night. Interesting broubon. Booker's has always been one of my favs, Knob Creek not so much. I only had one small glass so I am in no rush to judge yet. It has a great nose that really blossomed after about 10-15 minutes of air time. Sweet, with an almost vanilla creme frosting/cake note to it that was really intriguing. On the palate it was a fair bit different. Something is there, very prominent, that made it taste almost like a Scotch to me. I'm not sure if it's a pronounced Malt flavor I was getting or what. It was a bit off putting at first but I need to spend some more time with it.
