Bought a FRSB LE 2012 that was signed by Jim Rutledge, last one they had. An early Christmas to myself as I haven't seen a FRSB LE, just the SmB LE.

Bottle of WT 8 year old. Had some at the hotel bar last night. Love the atomic fire ball, caramel, vanilla.

4 bottles of Old Forester 75th Anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition (375ml bottles) - I found a discount bin with a bunch of these for $8.99

Old Grand-DBiB

Hey Cigar Dan I hope you got the Glencairn glass with each. The glass is worth that price the bourbon not so much.

Unfortunately, no. These were loose bottles. If I don't care for it any more than you, I'll put them out for parties as a mixer. They were cheap enough for me to take a chance and roll the dice.

Holy cow what a shipment!

Rolled the dice on a New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon today.

It's pretty good if you like that sort of thing. One of the better iterations of Lawrenceburg, IN bourbon.

Well, dang... I go for a long time without seeing any EC18 at all, then I see 4 within the last few days. I picked up a bottle barreled 8-91, barrel 2956.

Stocking up for the apocalypse or just having one hell if a new years party? Either way, I am heading to your house.

Have you yet reached the point on your inventory spreadsheet where 'average annual bottles consumed' multiplied by 'remaining years of projected life expectancy' outputs a figure significantly smaller than your current number of on-hand bottles?

He's thinking long-term legacy here... Inheritance man inheritance! :-)

Seriously though, that is quite a cache you got there. They look impressive all lined up like soldiers.

That very thought has crossed my mind about myself. It seems that my current consumption rate is decreasing while my desire to purchase good bourbon has not.

I'm pretty damn close but when exceptional bourbon that was hand selected is available at prices cheaper than what I would pay for them on shelf you have to buy and buy in bulk. These bottles represented our 28-34th barrel selections in the past 3 years so one would think that the desire to keep selecting/buying would slow down but for some reason it hasn't. We've already got pending 2 10yr Willett's, a 9yr Willett, 2 OWA's, a ETL, and 2 FR's lined up for the sampler in April...I've noticed that when my buddies come over 95% of the time the reach for our private selection bottles and of that about 60% of the time it's the Four Roses selections.

Not today, but throughout this past week, I grabbed a Lot B, 2 x 4R SmB LE 2012, ER10 Cork 'n Bottle selection, 2 x Weller 12 and a FR SB LE 2010 100th Anniversary. A couple to give as gifts. The rest for my own enjoyment.

Anyway, has anyone ever tried the FR 100th? What should I expect?

Merry Christmas to my beautiful bourbon loving girlfriend! I managed to secure the rye today to complete the gift just in time.

Expect to taste a little drop of heaven.

There's always some luck of the draw on 1B expressions. This is a 17yo OBSV, the oldest barrels FR has released along with the recent series of gift shop bottles. The gift shop bottles I've had have been among the best bourbon I've ever tasted, and the 100th Ann I drank through was also very special stuff.

Rouse's, the local chain grocery store around here, did a barrel selection for Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, and Blanton's. When they first came out, I was reluctant to make a move as I didn't have much faith in the whiskey selection ability of their corporate staff. However, they went on sale this week, and with the bottles I keep at the office for clients running low, I decided give them a chance.

I've only cracked open the Blanton's so far, but this one is exceptional.

Saw two horns on top of a bottle sticking up from the middle of a recent delivery still on the floor at a local shop. Sure enough a lone GTS nobody even realized was there and doesn't hurt that it was a couple dollars cheaper than I've seen it anywhere else. Figured I'll not likely see another and it never hurts to have an extra (or two).
