393foureyedfox
and 393foureyedfox starts shi*ting kittens in 3...2...1that gave me a good laugh!!i see a store in lexington lists 4 of them, but im not driving 90 minutes each way there to get them and likely find them gone or held for someone else. Besides, although I cant explain why, Lexington is one town I never liked being in. As a Sysco truck driver years ago, I would take any route that didnt put me in Lexington.I have stopped in a number of stores and left my contact ID and asked them to ask their reps about getting some for me. we will see....other than that, I am not driving all over town anymore to look for this stuff. I think id have better luck finding dusties of OGD 114, which I would probably grab over the ECBP if i found both anyway. who am i kidding?........Id grab both. MyOldKyDram
I'll gladly go get them then. Let me just make a call and see if they'll hold those for me. I didnt find these here btw but Viva Lexington!
brettckeen
These are the whiskey barrels. Don't know if there's any way to narrow it down beyond that. There may not be with the Bottle format, with draft they are indicated. Going to put it back on draft in a month or so, have 1/2 sleeve left. JVande
One is a 1 liter (crossed wheat) and the other is a .750pour it into glasses to compare color as the circumference of the bottles are different = less light getting into the bigger one. I will say the 1ltrs I have found have tasted better than current W12.What in the world makes you think that one of the bottles is a 1 liter and the other is a 750 ml??? Did you view my original post as I pointed out the differences? I am a somewhat competent individual and know what I have in the picture. Both of these bottles are 1.75 liters. Yes, thank you for the instruction. Before I posted this, I took multiple pictures of both bourbons in the SAME glassware and sent it to another SB member. My iphone 5 camera is not playing tricks, the 2006 is obviously darker than the 2011.

393foureyedfox
its funny NOW........the rantings here and the replies from you guys have lightened me up. i gave my contact info to 4 stores today, if it turns up, great. if not, oh well. i doubt it is twice as enjoyable as OGD 114 anyway (dollar for dollar), i just wanted to see for myself.only a few guys on here have caught the name reference. a four eyed fox is a 79-86 mustang (and other similar chassis cars with 4 rectangular glass headlights....capri, zephyr, fairmont, etc..........."fox" being the name Ford gave that chassis platform) and the 393 is the engine size i built for it. obsolescence of parts and collectors getting into the hobby and driving prices out of sight have ruined my primary car love......66-72 dodge and plymouth musclecars. it will be a few decades before I have to deal with most of that with fox mustangs though, so i'll enjoy it while it lasts
T Comp
Purchased a November 2006 bottling of Weller 12 year. Notice the color difference in this bottling compared to the bottle on the left which is a bunkered 2011 bottle. Very surprised how dark this bourbon is being only 90 proof. I believe mid 2006 is when BT started rolling out the new tear drop bottle. Also note that this bottle is about 1/2 inch taller than the current bottle which has a fatter neck (1.75 liter size). I did a full comparison between the two and let me tell you, they are very different considering they are the same label. The 2006 blows the current offering out of the water. So much richer on the nose, has more dryness on the palate like an older wheater, and a very long finish. I wonder if BT was using older juice for this bottling and pulling from Bernheim stock?? I graduated in '84, and if I could have had a new domestic car that year, that might have been my choice, maybe a GT350 drop-top with the 5.0 engine and manual transmission... woooooooooo!
