Laphroaig 18.

I'm so excited because I've never seen anything other than the standard 10yr and the Quarter Cask around here.

What's it going for down there? For a while we could get it for under $65.

Johnnie Walker Green. Needed one for a rainy day and managed to snag one of the last bottles in the state. It has been in pretty low supply for a while now and just flipped to discontinued on the Utah February price list.

Paid $81.99 plus tax I believe. Not convinced it's worth that premium to be honest.

GlenDronach 33. I splurged on a dram of this a while back (~$40), and thought it was great, but not worth the trophy bottle price. One of my favorite store owners saw me ogling his top shelf with this bottle and offered me an incredible discount which put it into no-brainer territory. I feel like I stole it. This is the first time I've owned a bottle of whiskey that is the same age as me!

Acquired some Angaston 12yo Vintage 2000 Australian single malt that arrived today.

Reportedly just a nice malt whisky not specifically trying to be scotch. Something a bit more uniquely Australian. This bottling is the 2000 vintage and is 86 pf. There was a cask strength from the original 1997 vintage that i would like to have tried but apparently it is even rarer than this one.

Anywho, should be interesting...

Picked up one of the last Talisker 18s in the Chicago area for $100. Just like that, Binny's is out and when they come back, they'll no doubt be in line with the prices in the rest of the country, i.e. $130 range. There's gotta be another bottle or two out there waiting for me to rescue...

Very cool, nice score. I've been eyeballing one myself, but $400 is out of my league. passed on some 21 and 17yrs as well, can't justify the premium while I enjoy the 15 revival so much and can still get it for $70.

I've been enjoying a 21 year old Glendronach from 1990 that was a month shy of 22 years in similar Oloroso Sherry Butt. It's a great whisky! Anyone tasted Michel Couvreau Single Malt? I've heard it compared to Glendronach and Glenfarclas.

Lots of GlenDronach love in this thread.

And it is well deserved. Glendronach is the new Macallan. I predict (and you know what I think about predictions, lol) a few years from now, people will look back and wish they had stocked up on GD.

Speaking of GD, I bought the following today:

Glendronach 18yo

Glendronach cask strength batch 3

Benriach 1996 single cask #10306

Longrow 18yo

Springbank 12yo single cask

Kilkerran (Glengyle) work in progress #5 - ex-bourbon

Glencadam 21yo

Jura 1996 boutique barrels

Wild Turkey rare breed

In the "better late than never" category - picked up my first bottle of Balvenie 15. In retrospect, (and after a first pour last night) - should have done that sooner.

One of my favorites. My bottle is half gone, so I recently picked up a back-up.

Same, just love that dram. I really wish the price had not skyrocketed last year, previously I could get them for ~$65 shipped, now I'm lucky to find them for $90 shipped. Locally they are all $100+ but some of that is our crazy WA taxes.

Have any of you tried that Kilkerran #5 Bourbon Wood? I am very curious to hear if that is something I need to get a couple of.

I recently bought a Arran Devil's Punchbowl that I plan to open this coming weekend.

I'm really interested in the Devil's Punchbowl. I'm a big fan of The Arran.
