I picked up a bottle of EWSB'04 and a bottle of Ancient Age just for the heck of it. When I worked a liquor decades ago, we had some older customers who bought AA regularly. I've never tried it.

in GA last week, I nearly fell for the 10 star mishap. I had three in my hand, with intention of giving them as gifts to friends who cant find ETL anymore, when I noticed the star instead of the year on the label. damn, thats deceptive....

I bought two bottles of EWBiB, and two DSP-KY-354 Rittenhouse today. First time trying the EWBiB and it is wonderful. Nice banana and vanilla thing going on. The Rittenhouse is a weekly pour for me. I like the newer KY-1, but I'm glad I found a few bottles of the 354 for the bunker.

Five year lurker, first time post. Reading the forum has taught me a lot about bourbon. Thanks.

Mid-Summer replenishment time: OGDBIB, Bernheim, WTRB 113 (but passed on some 375s of the 108 - still have several), EWB (with a fishing lure on the neck).

EWBiB is excellent. I did a comparison tasting between it and EWSB'04 last night, and it held up really well. Heck, I may like it better. Then again, the EWSB'03 I had a while back was outstanding, so it might be the barrel selection on my '04.

Picked this up today. Help me out guys, this looks different from the last RB I had. Proof was 50 or 55 I think? Thanks!

It looks different because it is. WT is done with the 03 run so what you bought was its replacement. I still recommend you drink it. If you are at all unsatisfied, I can solve that problem easily for you. :)

FWIW, I think running around buying up all of a reasonably priced whiskey that you know you like makes a lot more sense than what I was doing.

To that I can only add wait for sales and buy them by the case.

Picked up an ETL today, not a common sight in Cleveland at all. Also surprised at the lack of Buffalo Trace at the last couple stores I've visited

Negotiated on the price of a Michter's 20yr bourbon (M20H216) and it came home with me. While expensive and an NDP, this stuff is liquid gold. Honestly hard for me to find a better pour in recent memory.

Wish I could negotiate a price I could make myself pay for one of those!

I did run across a few bottles of old Potrero Rye today, and brought one home.

My wallet certainly wasn't happy, but my palate is. Palate trumps wallet this round. :)

Nice to see 13H's still around. They come but don't last long here even at 400 clams.

You would if you knew the markup. But any 'rare' bottle sells itself these days, hence my previous comment. But it sure never hurts to try!!

I finally found some ETL (not comm) for $35. Not a bad price given the store. First I've seen in Colorado since September or October. Odd finding it in this spot as all of the other stores that tend to get the new/limited releases first are still telling me that it still hasn't been released here. There's either some tomfoolery going on or I stumbled across some old forgotten bottles (although the shop owner commented that they had just gotten them in and felt lucky to get them at all). I grabbed 2 and left 3.

i can never tell if RR is Ridgemont or Russels reserve......

Sorry too new to realize. It was Ridgemont, its been hitting my sweet spot lately and this store puts out 1 bottle of all his harder to find in Pa bourbons. Ask to buy what he has...thats all I have. But we can view stocks online so since its close to my town I just go back every few days and re-up my stored bourbon. Really wish I was into bourbon earlier to taste the years past of the fruity nose I get from 04 EWSB.

Looks like I'm not alone adding a Michter's 20 year to the bar. Congrats Tylermke! Mine is an early wedding present, barrel 13H216. Then stopped by my local store where the just put out some CEHT Barrel Proof.

Congrats on the upcoming nuptials! Are you opening the bottle for the wedding?

This isn't my first rodeo with Michter's 20yr. I've also got the sister barrel to 13H216, which is 13H217. I actually tried the 13H217 first, which is what turned me onto it in the first place.

I'll admit when the bottles first came out in 2012, I thought people who bought into the hype, marketing, etc. were idiots. Looks like I turned into one of those idiots. :D
