I think we should all go on Facebook and declare "Pappy is dead, Stagg is dying, all hail the new King- Kentucky Owl".

Then all the flippers and trend-hounds will go away from what really matters.

I was told that the Kentucky Owl label says 'distilled in Bardstown.' Doesn't that mean it has to be Barton liquid? Either that or pre-1996 Heaven Hill. Who else has a Bardstown address? Willet, but anything made there is either less than 3 years old or more than 25 years old.

I can't see anything that would make this worth $150.

This has been a weird year for bourbon.

Likely to get weirder and probably bit ugly at some point.

Its not like this is a new idea. It just happens their doing it at what is likely the peak of the bourbon craze. Good luck to them. It's just business, and they are taking a game like anybody else pushing questionable product.

If the 6 year old Bourbon was in fact distilled in Bardstown (presuming the label is truthful, who knows) then that would be Barton who is the only distiller there who's been making Bourbon that far back.

The label on the TTB data base has a Bardstown address because it's bottled at Strong Spirits but it only says "distilled in Kentucky."

I LOVE this. The more distractions there are in the marketplace to attract these flippers the less attention they will pay to what I am looking for. This whole thing can't burn itself out fast enough. The apathy I feel toward hunting any PVW or BTAC has nothing to do with the quality of those bottlings. I have tried the majority and liked them all but won't resort to extraordinary measures to acquire them. Bring on a flock of Kentucky Owls and flush out the a-holes that b

I'm really excited about Kentucky Owl for two reasons.

1. It's a flipper trap.

2. They're totally falling for it.

Anyone buying this for the collectibility will eventually have their Candide moment - "It is all very well that these bourbons are limited, but let us tend our own bar".

Hmmmmm, so I guess by the preponderance of comments here, most of you folx wouldn't be that thrilled to see my case of Kentucky Owl show up on the table at the Gazebo Thursday evening??? Well, the heck with it, then I'll drink 'em all up myself!

Oh wait, now that I have seen the market price appreciate 250% since I scooped 'em up.... I can no longer afford such a pricey drink

..... I guess I'll just pour 'em all out and kill some ants in the lawn. ...Or, make 'em very happy ants... and even uncles. :slappin:

You want to join him, mister? :skep:

Those two are birds of a feather.

Say what you will, but it takes a team of taloned marketers to get buyers to turn their heads around for something like this.
