393foureyedfox
curiosity had me do a SBS of HH gold BIB and EC12. I prefer the entry of the gold label, it's sweetness and youthful punch, but I prefer the lovely aftertaste of the EC12. you know where this is gonna end up.... 393foureyedfox
Mr. And Mrs. Bumpus? Lots of dogs?no dogs. young, immature, hot-headed 20-somethings that once a month will surely end up in a yelling match in the front yard at 1 am. I ought to help them move to speed it up! gooneygoogoo
Asked the wife to pour me something from the bar so I could have something blind. Smelled it and said "this smells gross...must be the Willett pot still" (a gift that has been sitting there for a year) I was correct.

gooneygoogoo
its always kinda frustrating to be gifted something you dont like, knowing they bought it thinking it was something really nice because it came in a unique bottle, or a classy box, or was high priced. One friend gives me things like Noahs Mill or CEHT SmB, when I'd be quite happy with a regular 'ol HH6BIB....I guess they dont want to appear cheap. But, Im a cheap drinker anyway. You cant exactly turn your nose up at a gift though....Definitely agree about not turning your nose up at a gift. It was a nice gesture, and normally I wouldn't even mention it, but very rarely have I found a bourbon to be "gross". Maybe 2 or 3 times. I don't know if I am just fortunate on that account or what. Interestingly, it was my wife who gifted me the bottle, she even said she thought it was bad. Maybe I just got a bad bottle.

kcgumbohead
Savored the Patriots capturing the AFC east once again while finishing my 4RYLBP experiment. First pours a few months ago were out of balance with the spicier recipes prevailing so I let it sit for a good long time. I knew there were fantastic chocolates, toffees, apricots, red fruits, mint... in the mix I was very happy when those elements finally caught up with their spicier brethren. This would up being a very balanced and flavorful pour not to mention educational. I wasn't so sure about the BPYL when I first mixed it up but given time it was something special, of course the first class components didn't hurt. fishnbowljoe
I wanted to kick back with something a little different when I got home from work today. I had a pretty decent day at work for a change, especially considering it was Monday. So, I had a nice pour of a 1:1 vatting of our two SB HHSS bottles. I had open bottles of both, so I thought what the heck. I wasn't disappointed. The two together, are just as good, if not a little better, as when they're enjoyed separately. :yum: Cheers! Joe

Pudsky
Nice big pour of EC 12. Helps after a nasty wet drizzly day. This has been my go to daily for a while. I can find $20 store selects, makes it easier to fill the glencaren a bit more, these are only 7oz right?...
