BTAC has arrived in the UK so I picked up a WLW. No Stagg yet though, apparently a delay on that. Also acquired a gold-wax topped (and signed) bottle of ETL.

Called about a store about baby saz and lucked into a Sazerac 18. No complaints here!

Got myself a FRSmB2014, was surprised to see it in Michigan, they seem scarce here.

Very excited, happy and appreciative of the stores who kept me in mind and were very fair with their pricing. Never had my own bottle of ER17 so really looking forward to that one, I loved the few tastes I had of last years.

Also can't help but feel a bit exhausted by the sheer number of stores I came across ripping people off, it was easily 20 stores gouging for ever 1 that was within reason. But I digress.......feeling pretty lucky I even got the chance.

I sent Mrs Tot to buy what bottles were held for us, since I'm still at sea.

My retailers ended up screwing us. The store that usually sells us stuff at MSRP, so much so that I didn't even think to warn her, charged her $399 for a Pappy 23, and $150 for a Stagg, then $80 for an Old Rip 10. He also sold us an OFBB for 39, but that doesn't exactly fix things.

My other stores screwed me, even though I've been buying all year and called a lot. I got the scraps. One bottle of Old Rip 10 between two stores.

That's still a lot of good whiskey, but I'm not happy that I got gouged by proxy and then left in the cold by the others- looks like it's time to find some new stores for 2015.

I probably would have done much better if I could have been there, driving in and following up every day. I called and called, but ultimately got bypassed.

Another store had, by Mrs Tot's account, one PVW20 on the shelf for 800. I told her to clean him out of the Riazul tequila he had underpriced at $39, and we're not going back.

We'll see how 2015 develops, frenzy wise. If it hits the wall, I might get back in next fall, but if it's like this again, I think I'll sit it out.

Snagged me some store exclusive OF 1849 2 for a fellow member and 1 for me since I've never had it before, cracked it immediately when I got it home, first impression, was just ok, had me some again last night and Wow way better may have to go back for the 1 I left behind. Isn't that something how different a pour can be on a different day? Then did a SbS with VSOF 12, I do believe the 1849 won, then a vat of both of them...ahhh... just right.

Got roped into the store selection table at the big pvw lottery today. Came home with 2xER10, BT, 4R OESQ, KCSB, and EWSB04 (all store picks) for $191 out the door including sales tax. I think I'm done shopping for a while.

Got another PHC8 and HW MWND. I can't find any BTAC or PVW, so thought I'd grab these extras to try and trade in case anyone runs into my misfortune with these. If I can't trade them, I'll just drink them cause they are great.

Ordered Makers Mark cask strength online. Not available locally. Can't see where you could ever go wrong with straight from the barrel. Cut my teeth on barrel proof with GTS, but that is as rare honest politicians hereabouts, and more expensive . My last Stagg was a Stagg Jr. I received as a gift last Xmas. The MMCS is only between 108-114 proof, so no Stagg kick
