A friendly Monday hello to all the SBers reminiscing over the bourbon pours enjoyed over the weekend, I know I am and can't wait for the weekend already.

I can't seem to jump off the ER Single Barrel wagon so I find i'll always purchase one of these and another one [or two ;) ] to experiment with when I stock up.

My latest purchase was the typical ER and a bottle of RR10yo for a change.

So what bourbon have you been or will you be appreciating in Oz this summer...?

Guys I need the help of the brains trust. The bourbon choices in japan are insane!

I need advice. Does anyone know the differences between Blantons Single Barrell in the purple box and in the black box??

Also I just found a store with Wild Turkey Tribute 15 year (looks like kentucky spirit bottle ) is that woth picking up??

I have a pic that I cant load atm due to limited wifi. Sorry if I am vague.

If its a 15 year WT I cant imagine its not worth picking up.

Seriously though I havent tried it and cant give any insight other than on paper it sounds like a winner, if it was priced less than two bottles of RB I would take a chance.

The 15 year is certainly worth picking up the question is whether it's worth the price. I liked it but not enough to replace it and we pay less than the premium commanded in the Japanese market.

He is presumably basing it on the costinf the Aussie market which is a whole different (and rather frightening) financial beast when it comes to bourbon. And the Yen seems to be weak at the moment so now may be the time!

Was looking through one of my old Nokia phones I found in the bottom of a draw yesterday, and stumbled across a text from four or five years ago by another member here alerting me to the fact EWSB was on special for $39 at a local store (it was normally $45). Those were the days :)

I haven't seen it since Coles stopped bringing it in.

Couple bottles still lurk the selves. I'd buy one if I didn't have carrier pigeons bring me my booze from faraway lands.

On the Slow and Low. Knocked off 3/4ths of a bottle since yeaterday. Need to restock some bottles - Blanton's Original and Elmer Lee. Think I'll grab some Larceny too from the site mentioned by a follow poster (cheers for that).

Nup.

For $140 you get two 700ml from MBS.

Exc. Delivery though

edit: 2 x 750ml

Its $19.95 a bottle in the States. Postage and duty would have to be better than that!

Just back from Japan this morning.

The bourbon and scotch selection over there is nuts, not even to mention the Japanese Whisky choices.

I went around to a lot of places and honestly, while the large department stores have a decent selection in most of them, getting out and onto the streets is the way to go. There are plenty of small little shops that have interesting bottles. There was even ones shop in a lane in Shinjuku where they had old promotional glasses for Four Roses, I W Harper, Turkey and Suntory and when I asked the price the little old lady insisted I just take them.

In the end, I could not get back and grab the turkey, the typhoon hit Kyoto and it was just a little to wet to get there. In the end I picked up a Blantons Single Barrel, FR Single Barrel 2012 and a Old Forester Birthday 2012 and Christine picked up a couple of rare and unique Hibiki's.

Definitely want to go back.

Thanks to you I had a pour of some Larceny tonight. Enjoyed it more than the Weller Antique I just opened. I'm wishing I had more than a few sample bottles of the stuff! Definitely on my list to source a bottle of!

Maybe Uncle Dan will stock the stuff. Nice niche but probably run into competition with Makers 46 - quite lovely stuff too.

MBS have it available on backorder, maybe contact them to find out when the next batch arrives? I will be ordering more for sure.

I hate using the adjective smooth but larceny is just that, such a crazy soft mouth feel, delicious stuff.
