I gotta go with HH6 BiB. $10.99 for a 750 but tastier than most in the $20 range.

I am going with this one as well. Looking forward to heading back to Kentucky to get more.

best regards, Tony

Wow, great price on the EC12. I'd drink the hell out of it for that price

The Costco near my house has 1.75L of EC12 for $35.

Yeah, if I saw EC12 1.75L for $35 at our local Costco, there would be no more. It is interesting how much variation there is in the bourbon selection at different Costco stores. The Indy area stores rarely gets anything but Kirkland and Makers. They used to carry Woodford but no more. They do have some Christmas gift sets. They did have LSB Rye for $85 a while back.

I've been stockpiling OGD 114 at my local for $16 a bottle as I don't think it will be priced at that much longer. It makes up for losing Heaven Hill 8 year & BIB a year or two ago that was all over for $10 a bottle. I'm jealous of the markets that still carry HH as it is great bourbon that is severely underpriced.

In the Seattle market, the best sub $20 sipper for me is WT101. It's just under $20 here. A couple stores have HHBIB 6yr which also qualifies though it's not at the super low price most get it for.

OGD114 was at $17.99 for a long while around here. It can be found for $19.99 in some stores, but most have it around $22-25.00 now. Still a good price, but not quite the bargain it once was.

Ive never seen OGD114 below $21. that's pretty much the price everywhere in Louisville. Either they keep it well stocked, or it doesnt move much here, as the shelf is always full of it. Ive introduced several bourbon guys to it who have liked it, but other than that, I never hear "OGD114" unless its with those guys or on this forum. The fact that it is almost always kept on the bottom shelf isnt helping it get general public recognition here either. I like it, but its about a twice a year purchase for me. Granted, its a steal at $21, but I just dont enjoy it THAT much to keep it around all the time.

As of yesterday, VOB BIB is still $16 plus tax locally (although not widely distributed here in WashDC), and BT on sale is $19.99. These are the only two sub-$20s I sip. I do have EWB ($13.50 or so) around always, but it's almost exclusively a mixer.

HH 6 year old BIB is great. Also I like Old Forester Signature. To keep it under $20 a 750ml, I have to go with the handle.

Harry, VOB was one of my three regular pours (with AAA10YO and OWA) but I have not had any since my last two bottles of 6YO last summer. How has the profile held up since it went NAS?

Any other SBer is welcome to chime in, too.

All these reasonable prices for bourbon in other states has me contemplating moving out of Illinois.

or creating a 'bourbon fund' and taking a yearly trip to KY in a minivan/truck/large trunked car...

think of the excitement of $1000 or so in your pocket and a scheduled bourbon run with a buddy or two for a roadtrip....

Months ago when the change from 6YO to "6" first got some play, I bunkered several VOB BIB 6YO (and left several on the shelf which, I was told later, was much appreciated by another fan since it's not widely available here). I've since tried several iterations of "6". Because they moved off the shelves regularly, I'm guessing I've had sips from a couple of batches bottled months apart. SBS of the latest, purchased a couple days ago, with my one opened bottle of 6YO (7/8 full - maybe bought a year ago) revealed to me no noticeable (or at least no real) difference. Frankly, I've recently stopped worrying about bunkering the current "6" in case the flavor falls off and, instead, simply pick up a bottle or two when I run short. If the store that carries it is out, I ask them to email me when it arrives - so far, that's a day or two at most. In short, the unopened 6YOs will stay in the bunker indefinitely, and the opened one will be used for the very occasional SBS, but "6" will remain always available and opened.

a bottle of HH gold label BIB might fall short when compared SBS with something more upscale, but on its own is still a very enjoyable pour, especially at $9 a bottle. Granted, If i start off with a HMKBIB or even a HH6BIB then move onto the gold label, it will fall short, but to just come home and pour an ounce of gold label on its own still makes a good night.

Idont think I've had any sub 90 proof HH product I found unenjoyable, to think of it.

I recently finished off a gold label BBBIB and I have to say it just didn't do it for me. It wasn't terrible, and I did finish it off after all, but if I'm going bottom shelf, I'm going with HHBIB 6yr. The Gold label seems like a compromise to me. 6yr does not. It's a solid inexpensive pour that punches above its weight.
