BourbonGuy
Wow. I've seen that one for as much as $29.99 here. (not to mention the email I recently got from a local chain offering it at $39.99 ) I purchased a number of them. Plus I have been doing buisness with him for years. For that I earning a discount. But still very reasonable: http://www.superwinewarehouse.com/r/Bourbon/wl-weller-old-weller-antique-original-107-brand
Flyfish
SBS of the latest, purchased a couple days ago, with my one opened bottle of 6YO (7/8 full - maybe bought a year ago) revealed to me no noticeable (or at least no real) difference. Harry, thanks for the response. Will get some in KY when we pass through after Christmas.

(not to mention the email I recently got from a local chain offering it at $39.99 ) Yeah, if I could find it for $19.99, I would buy as much as they would let me. When it first showed up again earlier in the year, I saw it on the shelf. The same store now keeps it behind the counter and limits your purchase to one bottle. I think the recent releases (2014) are much better than releases over the past few years.
393foureyedfox
I'm going bottom shelf, I'm going with HHBIB 6yr. The Gold label seems like a compromise to me. 6yr does not. It's a solid inexpensive pour that punches above its weight.I have to agree with you. with only a dollar separating them on the shelf, Id always grab the white 6 year. When clearing the shelf of a Kroger during my 6 year HH Louisville purge, I also bought every 6 year green 90 proof and every gold BIB they had as well. If nothing else, I almost always make my winter candies with the gold label just because its the cheapest 100 proofer available, and still better than VOB, to me at least. ebo
When I want a sub $20 sipper I go to these two choices; OGD BIB, and Old Ezra 101. Just picked up a bottle of OGD last night actually, and will be my pour tonight.
fusion210
Old Ezra 101 had a weird twang/aftertaste to it. Worse than Beam funk from OGD bib. I won't buy another.EWBiB was great for the price! The flavors were there, it was just thin. My first bottle actually leaked from the plastic cap before I even opened it. I returned it for another and felt the above. I could buy a case of this stuff for less than a single bottle of Lost Prophet. These things keep me away from bottles over $60. fusion210
I would try AAA 10 star again, it was pretty darn good for a .375ml in a plastic bottle. But Larceny's 1.75l is on sale..I'd love to try HHBiB.
GaryT
Old Ezra 7yr 101 would be my first choice, but AAA 10-Star and OGD BIB stand out as "best buys" in the sub-$20 category. Of course, I don't live where they're giving OGD 114 away for $20 or less, or it would be that all day long

393foureyedfox
Old Ezra 101 had a weird twang/aftertaste to it.i picked up on that the first bottle i had, and a few times on the second bottle i had. Now, I dont notice it anymore, and find it rather enjoyable. Still a second seat to HH6BIB, especially at 1.5x the price of HH6BIB.....but most of you guys cant get HH6BIB but can get Ezra 101, which I find to be better than EWBIB, even at a few bucks more than EWBIB.give it another shot, literally. Good, but not worth going out of my way to find. The bottle I have now was found at a store with several dusties and is the only one I've seen in the state (it even came in a box, which I've not seen elsewhere) . This one tastes like old HH and is very tasty. I would clear the shelves if I could find more!
Jazz Nut
Wild Turkey 101 for $17.99 750ml. Evan Williams BIB is around $18.99 as well. I have a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 on hand at all times.
Vosgar
You might want to consider an occasional Mellow Corn. Yeah I know, it's not a "favorite" sipper but it's a nice change up once in a while. It certainly hits the under $20 request and comes in at 100 proof for those who won't drink anything less than that.

I have a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 on hand at all times.how can you MN guys get Bookers for $35, WT101 for $18, yet EWBIB is priced high at $19?!?state to state liquor pricing is odd...taking taxation out of the equation, logically one would assume a product is cheapest the closer it is to the spot of its production, and goes increasingly higher the further the delivery distance is. Vadertime
Over in Taipei, I take what I can get Bourbon wise. One of the whisky vendors here has imported a few HH Bourbons: HH80 4YO, EWW, EW1783, and EC12 (with increasing prices). BIB Bourbon is very rare here, unheard of really. Two bottles of EWW have been drunk, and while I am not in love with it, it has nice flavor but a thin mouthfeel (killer on ice though), I don't foresee many other chances to pick up more BIB in the future. The price per bottle (with six bottle discount) is roughly $19 per bottle- stiff, but again, no future BIBs I fear (unless I carry them over). So, I sprang for 6 bottles which should hold me over for a few years I think. The good news is that the chain was running a special promo, with each bottle of EWW purchased, they include a ~$7 500ml bottle of Blackcurrant Cider (Merry Down). It's not my cup of tea, but my wife seems to like it, so that is a nice bonus. 6 bottles of EWW and 6 bottles of cider. In the end, all things considered, my price was not too bad! HH80 4YO is not too bad either, I am considering picking up a few bottles, but I fear I will regret it later as it does not really bring it. sailor22
At $17 a bottle Fighting Cock should get some love when it comes to value pours.
JDSmith619
Looking back over 2014, I drank quite a bit of EWBiB and I continually am amazed how much I enjoy it. At $13 a 750 you just cant go wrong.

I've not been able to find something I enjoy more for the little amount of money I spend on it.

Quintilian
or creating a 'bourbon fund' and taking a yearly trip to KY in a minivan/truck/large trunked car...think of the excitement of $1000 or so in your pocket and a scheduled bourbon run with a buddy or two for a roadtrip.... 5cents
I know I'll be in IN (Vincennes specifically) at least in April. I'd like to pick up some HHBiB among other products I don't regularly find around these parts. You will only be about 2 hours from Louisville, KY then. I used to live just over the border in Robinson Illinois
Smac
HHBIB 6yr...nothing comes close IMHO for $11. Runner up would be Four Roses Yellow Label for $15 followed BT on sale for $17. And that's all I got to say about that!
