Finished off a Bowman Gingerbread Beer finish. Not upset to see it go.

Consolidating my open bottles since I will be moving soon. It's getting tough not to open anything new.

hehe, saw my ER pic above and trying to remember which ones I have killed since then and didn't take a pic of. Will have to go check the recycle tub.... Looks like the only non-vatting I killed since then was the HMcKBIB.

Said goodbye to a BT yesterday, forgot how good that stuff was, will need to go and replenish... Now ...what to drink today? Going to be cookin a chicken on the spit, had it marinating over night in some new dry spice I bought from Penzey's yesterday... Turkish spice.

double ditto, such a great <$30 pour. I will be waiting a week or two to replace it when the new store I went to recently get's their private pick in, and I will be grabbing another private pick from a different store to compare with.

also killed my KCSmB but don't fret, the open KCSB is nearly full.

Had a big pour of LP 22y to finish off the bottle. This (to me) is the best one in the OB bunch. Very good.

Agreed on all points. This is still the only OB that I have purchased. Tasted them all except Forged Oak and this was the only one I felt compelled to buy.

Edit: This was intended as a reply to LCWoody's post above.

ECBP hazmat hit the recycling bin last night. It was a remarkably good bottle. One of the easiest 140 proof bourbons to proof down with no compromise to the flavors (and to me they were enhanced some) and it's easy to take away the high proof heat that can overpower flavors. This is one of my favorite pours period, any release #, and ranks up there with my favorite 4R products and Stagg.

JB BIB, Ritt BIB, HM BIB and EC12. I had a little help with all but the EC12.

I tend to think of this sub forum as the place where you lament the end of those special bottles, or at least, the expensive or hard to replace ones. Despite that, I post here to lament the end of yet another WT101. It's a simple, humble, bourbon despite it's kickin' reputation, and is easily replaced. It's such a great value, though, that I deemed it acceptable to note its passage on this page.

It's replacement is already waiting in the wings.

Despite having much more expensive bourbon open at my home bar and also in the bunker, WT101 is a favorite of mine. When nothing is hitting the spot, WT101 is always there. I too am thankful for WT101.

  • 2 weeks later...

2 dead soldiers tonight but they gave their life so I could have a big bottle of PMP. The W12 will really be missed as it was very hard to come by up here. Hopefully I see some on the shelves this fall as sipping on the last 2 ounces neat is really enjoyable.

Last bit of a Ritt DSP 354 and a Baby Saz gave it up for some cocktails this weekend. More of both in the inventory. Just have to find them!

I consolidated the above images into one JvW style pic the other day, but his view is way better than mine. :/

Nice. I have around 20 ounces of PMP mingling in the cabinet that I will cherish dearly until the fall release of W12.
