I have a few things I'm going to experiment with. I have some rare breed I'm thinking of proofing down with some WT Rye 81. And I've heard of some mingling stagg Jr and BT, but I love stagg on its own so not sure.

I did a blend of Stagg Jr. Batch 1 and BT and I found it quite tasty.

Sounds promising. I have batch 3 open at the moment.

Tasting my Stagg Jr #2 / BT now after 2 glasses of BT and I can see why. Very tasty at 3:1 which is ~100 proof.

I've been doing this blend in about that proportion for about 2 years now and it's a favorite. I can get stuck on it for 3-4 nights in a row if I'm not careful.

I can see why. It is quite unique. Glad I have a few spares of BT and a couple spares of Stagg Jr down the stairs.

Continuing with unusual pours (for me), I'm sipping on some WFE23yr. Oak is present, as you would expect, but is not overbearing or bitter. It's right at the edge of tolerable for me because I'm extra sensitive to it these days but works in this situation. It's a very rich and flavorous pour.

Went with Blanton's again tonight, followed by 4RSB, followed by Blanton's x 2. Blanton's refined and balance elegance just flat out won the day...

That was one thing I was looking through threads here, how you measure it, or how precise you guys are. I will just eye ball it and work through trial and error.

Had a little of the latest Stagg Jr. last night, followed by the store pick SAOS 10 and 9 year. I really love that 9 year. It's got a sweetness that's not as present in the 10 that really appeals to me.

I prefer to get to the 100 proof mark by diluting Stagg Jr without vatting with BT. Similar to the EC/ECBP where diluted ECBP beats out vatting with EC on my palate, just diluted Stagg Jr tastes better to me. I don't even buy EC or BT anymore, the 100 proofs are that good to me.

Are you going to make me go out and buy a Blanton's?

Well... I did!

I've had a hankering to host a SBSBSBSBS of the entire mash bill #2 for a while now. Pours will consist of AAA 10 yr, then ETL, RHF, Hancock's (store pick) and Blanton's. Tastings will be done blind so that impressions are unencumbered by label and/or price expectations and/or anticipations.

All I've got to do now is find the time... finding the volunteers is the easy part.

Believe it or not Barterhouse... Bought this sometime back and wasn't too impressed as I recall. But a substantial pour this afternoon and it's grown on me I guess

Started with some Old Forester SB to get the bad taste of the Rams game out of my mouth. On to some BT now while working on dinner and some 4RSB store pick on deck for dessert.

HHSS batch #2. Haven't poured this one in a while but am quite happy I did tonight. Tremendously full flavored with a long finish that I particularly enjoy when the weather gets a little cooler. Happy to have another bottle in reserve since the current one only has a few ounces left.
