My bunker has decreased significantly since I haven't purchased much since February.   I am not opposed to opening special bottles since the whiskey was bought to drink. However,  I was in need of everyday type pours so I picked up some KCSB, HMcK, EC, and Larceny. All on sale and an additional 15% since picked up wine as well.  An average cost of $26.50 OTD per bottle for the whiskey.

Another handle of EC12 and a Larceny.  Saw my first handles of NSA EC today, so I thought I better pull the trigger again before it's too late (750's are long gone here)...

Went to one of my favorite little out of the way liquor stores with plans to pick up a few McKennas. They only had one, but had some other surprises that struck my fancy. First, a JTS Brown BIB. We just don't get these oddball BIB's that some of you can find regularly unless a little store makes an effort to order it. Never seen this one but I'm game to try a BIB any time because it's cheap. I was surprised to see a couple Sweet Wheats. Took one and left the other. Grabbed a 4RSiB for god measure, and finally, I decided to break down and buy a Master's Keep because I had some discounts that brought the price down to $110. I valiantly held out until now but caved at that price.

Stopped by in Connecticut on the way back from Granddaughter #2's 2nd birthday party in Brooklyn today to pick up my RHF and ended up buying another (as suggested by meadeweber).  Also bought a fifth of HPR for $36 + CT tax and a handle of AA for $19 + CT tax, just because!      :D

Wow, Old Fitz 12...nice find!

Yeah it was relatively available in Europe up until early this year. Must admit I have been bunkering them when I see them.

Steve, you'll have to let us know what you think of the JTS Brown. :)

Came home with a bottle of SAOS 10 year old barrel proof.   I figured I'd try it while I could.   Oddly and disappointingly, it's my least favorite of all the SA products I've tried.  It's only 106 proof but it tastes like it needs some water.  I think 10 years was too much for this one, it's a little woodier than I generally care for.

It's what you'd expect for a $13 BIB - not great, but not bad either. Worth the price. I've never been one for tasting notes, but I get a pretty clear nose on this one of cake donut with powdered sugar. How weird is that? I pick up some of the same flavors that I get in some of the KBD bourbons, but in those I get a wet cardboard taste that's absent in this.

HH6yr BIB is still the best bargain as I think those two extra years make a discernible difference. For the price though, this is not bad at all.

Fast Eddie Felsen would certainly agree!

.....Brought to mind as I was watching him do his thing on the boob toob, after DVR-ing "The Hustler" a few days ago on Turner Classic Movies.     Great Flick!!!!

I picked up a store selection of WT Kentucky Spirit.  I have enjoyed most of the WT family, bourbon and rye, but this will be my first time trying the KS.

Rye land seems quiet, so I'll solicit some opinions here.

Got this from a friend who no longer drinks; he got it from his mother.

Any thoughts on if it's gonna be good?

Didn't need it, but came across a stockpile of CEHTSmB for $33.99 per bottle, and bought a couple more (already have a few in the bunker).  Really one of my favorite everyday bourbons, and I know this is a solid price relative to many other parts of the country.

1-ECBP @ $49.95  1-CEHTSB @ 71.95  1-Stagg Jr. Rel #6 (132.5 Proof) @ $49.95.

As Jay Trotter would say, "I'm having a very good day."

I'm a big fan of this sale at the BK in NJ as well!  I've also picked up more than one.

We're a month late starting this one so I figured it was time.

Purchased an OGD114 just because and a handle of WT101 for $26. That's right, 1.75L for a better price than the 1L. I asked if the price was a misprint and was told it was not. It's priced that way to beat Costco's price. I'll take it.

Take it and walk out quickly past the que who only want to know if the store "has any Pappy".

Saw all three of these today as well, but decided to only get the Stagg Jr. instead of bringing all three home. Either way, it was a good day on the bourbon hunt.

That I did sir, and I bypassed the Michter's 10yr bourbon and rye that was allocated behind the counter.

EWSB 2004 for $29.99, Stagg Jr. Batch 3 for $49.99, and Stranahans Diamond Peak for $35.99, I don't like paying that much for EWSB, but I havent seen an 2004 for awhile and i justified it with the price paid for the diamond peak

Was reading the board and some members were discussing the merits of SAOS7 (high rye) v. SAOS10 (low rye). Stopped at the store on the way home and both were on sale. I don't have either but have had both. I took a SAOS7 home for $35.99 plus tax.

In Dallas again so snagged an saos7 (39.99) and a stagg jr (44.95) .  Saw rotten house for 24.95, seemed really high seeing as it's 17.99 at home.  Always interesting to see the price variances, as stagg jr. Is more readily available at home, but is 52.99.
