Yesterday I picked up a bottle of the latest batch of ECBP as well as a Bookers 2016-1.

Bought a Single Barrel Smooth Ambler Old Scout 10 year at 117.4 proof.

I also bought a bottle of David Nicholson 1843 bib.  I'm not very familiar with DSP numbers but it says it was distilled by DSP - KY - 16.  Where's that?

That would be Stitzel-Weller, Shively/Louisville.  Currently warehousing for Diageo

Today was the first purchase in a while.  I'm buying selectively because of inventory build-up.  Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon 110 pf [a store selection and a backup to an already open bottle], plus Willett 3 yr Rye.

Is this bottle old then?  I thought they stopped distilling a long time ago.

They did, and this brand has been passed around throughout the years like a red-headed step child.  Since SW quit distilling, it's been suspected that they've been sourcing this from HH.  You can do some online research and figure out whether your bottles old or new, or just throw a photo up and let the choir sing...:D

They supposedly had leftover labels from when it was distilled at S-W.  Those labels are lasting a long time.  Doubtful you've got a S-W bottle, likely distilled at HH.  Don't feel bad, Ive got one of those in my bunker as well.

Back on topic, picked up a ETL.  Didn't think the last one I bought was as good as older bottles, hoping it was just single barrel variation and not that the brand is going downhill.

Found an er10 today for 28, and a ewbib for 12. Haven't had the ewbib before, but heard great value, and er10 is my go to bourbon.

KC 2001, ETL, SA Contradiction, AEimage.jpeg

I see a couple of Utopias and  Bourbon County Stout.  Nice choices.

Fast Eddie Felsen would certainly agree!

.....Brought to mind as I was watching him do his thing on the boob toob, after DVR-ing "The Hustler" a few days ago on Turner Classic Movies.     Great Flick!!!!

One of the best. I'll never forget Piper Laurie coolly responding to getting slapped with "Do you expect me to cry?" One of the most thrilling moments in classic cinema.

I went looking for some of the Knob Creek 2001, but could not find any around here. Good for you.

Is that even legal?  Label says it was distilled at DSP-KY-16 but it really wasn't?

Picked up a bottle of KC2001 and hopefully secured a couple of bottles of Elliott's Select when it comes available...

Not legal but enforcement is lacking.

Haha I see, thanks for the info guys!  Stuff is pretty good for the price.  However, it pales in comparison to the barrel proof Single Barrel Old Scout 10 year that I tried it next to.

Picked up a Sweet Wheat today. Never had it and this is the first time I've seen it on a shelf so figured what the heck.

Is that a Big Red "12" on the front label?  Nice find.

It's time to open the pool, use up a few coupons and bring home a few presents.  I noticed my favorite single malts had gone up again so I figure it's time to try a few new bourbons, Basil Hayden and Blanton's seem like good ones to take home.  The sales guy at the store was going on and on about Tin Cup, I never heard of it before.  A quick Google and I figured I would give it a try for $27.

Blanton's is always a good choice!  Availability is issue these days so finding it and for $49.99 is a great deal!  Enjoy!

$27 means if you don't like it, you can blend with soda and not feel guilty.  The Blanton's, RR10, and BH make for a nice haul along with the beefed up root beers.  Not sure what is behind them.

Yea if I don't like it, it becomes a mixer or something.  I let the salesman talk me out of Knob Creek and into the Tin Cup.  We shall see if I messed up or not next week or there abouts.  The second row is Eagle Rare 10 and Sauza Hornitos, it's Margarita season.
