I’m not necessarily “in the know” but read the board regularly and this would be news to me??? I️ hope it’s not true.

I hope its not true either, in regards to the ER10, however there has been discussion here about the likely hood of other age stated bourbons dropping the age statement and going to NAS ER being one of them. Time will tell I suppose.

Ah, who the hell am I kidding?

LOL! Bruce, I seem to remember that you weren't a big fan of last year's release, but can't remember if you actually bought a bottle. I was, of course, a fan boy of the stuff and bought multiple bottles. Some early reviews on this release are pretty good, but I guess we will see.

Picked up a store pick EC12. You can see on the label on the right the 12y age statement under the tree. Interesting find seeing how EC small batch is now NAS.

I was talking to the owner of the store and he said they are getting a ER10 barrel select in the next few weeks. He said he was told by BT they are dropping the 10y age statement on ER10. Although I think that is not news to anyone here.

Is this true? Are they actually getting rid of the age statement? This sucks, if so.

Was just going to say for once the reviews have been much more positive this year.

Not sure how true, but the store owner I spoke with said he was told so when purchasing barrel.

PVW 15 lottery winner in Orange County ABC. Picked it up for $99.99. Boy do I have a love-hate relationship with the ABC system. Today it's all love.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard from a distributor, store manager, owner, etc, "I was told such and such" or "such and such is going to happen"... 99% are just plain wrong (it's amazing so much "inside" info turns out so wrong); I usually just roll my eyes at them now.

I predict ER10 keeps its AS. They've had ample chance to take it away, and it's not that difficult to track down these days.

So much this. I've seen more ER in the past few months than I saw in the previous 3 years combined.

Thanks to local SB member Jfletchgu for the find! I thought finding 8year OC was not gonna happen. Glad I made it out alive.

Guessing you went to the hood to pick those up. Mix with Stagg Jr. equal parts, good stuff. Would love to get some of the dusty 12yr that's at 90.

Got some/had some. I think the 8yr/80 proof is better...

If the intel is accurate and they are mixing in mashbill 2 with the eagle rare then it’s certainly under pressure, but they’ve added some headroom to keep the age statement. It’s a favorite and while I’d hate to see a change, as long as they keep the taste profile I’ll be good.

Went back and grabbed a bottle. Owner has no idea why she got these SB bottles. Said they just came in place of her normal order.

Really I'm glad to hear it, as I don't think I'll be seeing any ever. The OC seems like it would benefit from the extra proof. The extra also seems like it wouldn't hurt. I like the 8yr but the low proof seems to not be in my wheelhouse.

I think this is a subject we'll discuss again in the new year. My local LS owner was also told that he was delivered his last SP ER recently. There is a pretty strong rumor in the major TN distributor of BT products that ER as we've known it, is on the block. I have an ample supply bunkered but am considering maybe getting another case. It's my personal favorite so I don't want any change. Hard to pony up $ this time of year with all the other "must purchases".

I hope this RUMOR continues as that and no announcement is released in 18. In my area it's always been readily available on the shelves and sold at a fair price. Keeping the faith....

Couldn't agree more, 1920 is amazing. I've only had OFBB 2016 and 2017 but I prefer 1920 to either.

This would be pretty major news if true, and I really hope it isn't. Of all the low cost bourbons that have recently lost their age statement Eagle Rare has, and continues to be my favorite one (aside from Weller 12, if I find it).

Unless I hear the rumor from a credible source, I'll assume it's not true. It is confirmed, however, that they will be eliminating private select single barrels for Eagle Rare next year, so perhaps there was some confusion on the owners part.

Stampede for ER10 in 3-2-1. Sales go through the roof and bunkers expand even further.

Didn't taste those two releases, but the 1920 is way better than the 2015 OFBB which i didn't like at all. Do you drink it neat or with water ?

LOL! Sad, but true how easily distilleries can manipulate sales by doing and saying a few little things in the current boom.

The rumors for EC12 came true while those for OGD114 did not. What to believe........

Well it took a grand total of three consecutive visits to the liquor store and six total hours in the car, but my persistence paid off! On my second trip the manager told me all the bottles were gone and then called me when I was almost home to say he had found one and would hold if until today. I wasstill  pretty nervous until I actually had the bottle in my hands
