Stagg is my all-time favorite bourbon, so i'll take it over the AH Hirsch any day. The '09 is excellent, not the best though, the 2010 is king for me, up there with 2015 which i'm getting a bottle in a few days, lucky me ha ha. For me the stagg it's all about his profile, oak, wood cinnamon and cherry, sometimes i get cola notes too, what i love about is that it's thick and chewy, the nose is unbelievable, as soon as you pour it, you can't smell it from a mile away. The only bourbon close to that is the Elijah Craig barrel proof, specially batch 6 (140.2 proof). About the Hirsch, it's a well craft/aged bourbon, quite complex and smooth, it's nice, i'm glad i've tried it, but i wouldn't spend too much money on it. Cheers! Mako254
What to do with a bottle of Russells Reserve sib that you aren’t crazy about? Practice for the Derby of course. First julep of 2018.

JCwhammie
Yesterday was our wedding day, so we dug up the bottle of EHT SmB and shared it with some close friends. I decided to save 4 or so ounces to drink with year old cake on our first anniversary.

I realized that I needed to update the 'recommendations' section on my SB profile to include Baker's. Haha. Seriously though, although I've always liked it, I used to think that it's a bit overpriced. Even though the price has creeped up a little recently, I've come to realize that even at the higher prices ($40-ish in Texas) I think it's totally worth it. I guess it just hits a sweet spot for me in terms of age and proof. Unlike with Knob Creek and Booker's, I get zero "Beam Funk" with Bakers, ever. If you have never tried it, I highly recommend you rectify that situation soon! My man! Love the Baker's.

We buried it upside down a month before the wedding then dug it up immediately after the ceremony. We read that it was good luck and would bring good good weather on the wedding day. I'm not that superstitious, but the weather was absolutely beautiful.

Mako254
Trying to ward off a cold/sinus situation w/ some Makers. Unsuccessful. My palate is a wreck. After two sips, the remaining went in the infinity bottle. A shame.

I wanted to bury something that is a really nice pour that I wouldn't be upset if it somehow got cracked when burying or digging it up.
