I've been steadily passing on all the new and super kool LEs. I've got to save my $s for the old school LEs which match my age better.

Blaum Bros 12 year $90.

I believe that’s 12 year old MGP...very similar to the BM 12yr SB.

Passed on ORVW yesterday at my local shop.  I have gotten Weller 12 and ETL there before at msrp.  But, seems as if that will be ending.  The ORVW was priced at $599.

WHOA!!!!   WOW!!!!    I'd ask if there had been a missing decimal point.....

Old Fitz 9 at $139. Was excited to see it, let down by the price. He had an OF 11 next to it for 149. Not surprising, ECBP B518 for 79.

If still available I’d snap this up! The Blaum 11 I had was possibly the best whiskey I have had this year.  It’s $10 more then I paid, but Really really good juice.

Finally happened. Passed on ECBP B518 at $42. Have several of this batch (and others) and opted to try the OE BP instead.

Also passed on HWMWND. Tried it last year and it’s just not my thing.

Tho I have a couple B518s, I would have bit on that if I had found it. Love its strong-burnt-sugar profile. Ive been looking for the OEBP, but havent found it without a 45 minute drive.

Passed on Orphan Barrel Rhetoric 24yo for $200. I think that’s well above the retail price, but I’ve never seen it on the shelf before and couldn’t justify the price since I’ve found Barterhouse 20yo for $99 or less.

I also passed on 2018 GTS for $325 in another store. The same store had a ridiculous price of $125 for the new JD Heritage SB. I’ve already bought several bottles of the JD Heritage SB for less than $70.

Yeah the Rhetoric 24 should be about $140 or so. I love Barterhouse and I thought that Rhetoric 23 was quite good, but the 24 is probably past its prime in terms of oakiness. There are elements that I enjoy but I find it somewhat challenging, and I really, really like oak. I find compared to the Rhetoric releases, Barterhouse is better balanced and at $80-100 a much better value. If you can find Rhetoric 24 in a bar, give it a try before committing to a bottle would be my recommendation.

I’m a fan of Barterhouse too. I probably would have picked up the Rhetoric 24 if it had been less than $150. When bottles get above the $150 mark, they’ve got to be bottles that I really want, and not just a bottle that I’m slightly interested in. I also passed on Kentucky Owl 11yr at the same store for $230. I know that was in line with the second batch pricing, but I’m just not interested enough at that price.

I have passed repeatedly this past week on Stagg Jr. I just didn't enjoy the only bottle I've had (I found it an astringent mess). Let it go to someone who enjoys it.

Woohoo! I’m not the only one!

Normally I would have still gone ahead with another, but it’s been an expensive Fall and I was already buying a second JDSiBBP pick that’s just loads of brown sugar, the new OF1910 and the OE7BP.

Got a text on this one today.  Pre-fire, only 3000 bottles, barreled my freshman year of college.  The $400 msrp price tag was out of my range.  Cool stuff, interested in a sip, but not THAT interest...

Snazzy presentation box is prob'ly worth at least a hunnert bux!   Ya' might wanna re-think yer decision, gurgalunas.    Once that 3200 bottles is gone; it's ALL gone... For Good & All!

Wow!  Huge price tag, I still don't know what I would do if I had the chance.  One of those ones I am kind of hoping I just never see!

I'd hate to see what a bottle of bourbon barreled my freshman year of college would cost. Of course, there might only be enough in the barrel for 1 or 2 bottles..... :P

Love the packaging! I actually thought it was going to go for a higher price than that. That would be my most expensive bottle to date, but I might have been tempted.

That wooden piece that looks like a drawer at top is magnetically held in place.  It has a groove in it that the top of the bottle fits in.  Wish I took a pic of the side, it was truly a work of art.  Got the text, was heading there anyway.  Had it in front of me, passed, and the guy behind me bought it.  Good for him.  Probably be for sale tomorrow for $1200 if anyone cant live without a bottle.

I'd love to try a lot of these wild, rare, last chance bourbons, but my interest and pocketbook dont match.  I get the collectability, but would not be satisfied to let it sit.  And no bourbon is worth $400 to me to drink...  couldnt possibly taste 4x better than GTS, 8x better than ECBP, etc...
