Tried the new Baby Book yesterday.

Decent stuff, but I feel like it’s overpriced for what you get.

Basically tastes like barrel strength rye, that someone dumped Bookers or another strong “beam profile” bourbon into.

The characteristic beam nutty corn taste powers through the rye on this one.

im not sure if the beam bourbon is ruining the rye, or if the rye is improving the bourbon, but I probably won’t lose sleep over tasting this ever again.

Its fine, arguably good, if beam is your thing.

I can’t get enough of that stuff, the price is really bad, but man, the juice is amazing. I have two more coming in soon and I’m negotiating for two more. Cheers!

Jealous of you Mr. Will.  That one used to be one I could get a bottle every year but my source dried up.  Haven't found one in over a year.  Even the regular CEHT are being treated like allocated stuff now.  Crazy.  Another sign the boom is on the upswing, and hasn't plateaued yet.  Enjoy!

Lots of good stuff happened this week, then I got to bar tend at my church's festival - a grand time indeed.

I wanted a special pour, so I reached for the pre-fire DSP 31 distilled JW Dant I found at my dad's.  It did not disappoint.

Enjoying some college football watching this evening.  Thought I'd take the opportunity to whip up my first pour of the "grandpa weller's four grain" blend that I've heard so much about.

Really good whiskey right there!

I think Notre Dame is pretty damn good.  Oh, you mean the whiskey?  Lol.

It's pretty tasty alright.  I'm not sure I like it as much as OGD114 by itself however.  Depends on the mood I'm in because OGD for me has to be something I'm in the mood for.  If I'm craving OGD then I'd rather just drink the OGD.  But I can see me digging this more often overall however.  Glad for the SB community getting me to try this.

Tonight it was some ECBP C918 followed by a pour of a SB BT. Both were very good and a nice opening act to Sunday football around the house.

Celebrating a Clemson win and a South Carolina loss to Kentucky with a PS WTKS. Pepper on the front, pepper in the middle, and a long caramel finish.

Started out with OF SiB to finish off that bottle. Now onto EWSiB 2003.

This was my entry Bourbon. I still enjoy this whiskey.

Cheers

I'm feeling the 90ish proofs tonight.

So onto 4R SmB.

I have a therory.  Because the SmB LE is so good and Four Roses uses the same bottle & pretty much the same name for the 90 proof SmB, the 90 proof version gets compared to the LE

Thus, folks overlook the SmB 90 proof. To their loss, IMHO.

Cheers

The 4R regular small batch is one that I just can't get into. I've tried it many times but it always has this "dirty" taste.  I prefer the yellow/tan label to the small batch and don't really like that one very much either. I won't ever be a card carrying cult member. The regular single barrel is a decent bourbon and some of the LEs and PS single barrels are stellar but their regular lineup is pretty meh to me.

I'm sort of in the same boat.  The SmB is definitely tastier than the yellow/tan label to me, but my true favorite is their SiB.  Aside from that, I don't have the same love for 4R as many do.  Definitely good, just not a favorite.

Does this count? :D. This really DOES taste like cinnamon toast crunch.

But seriously had a pour of my favorite for the final day of NBHM.
