I started seeing the "new" bottle markings in late 2017.

Cheers

New markings. What are they? I have only been buying this for the last year or so, maybe not familiar with the older one. For the money, this EWBIB is fantastic.

The new batch has a green faux tax strip printed on the plastic seal.  The previous ones just had a plain white plastic seal.

Thanks for the clarification. Mine all have the green fake tax strip so I have the newer stuff. They MUST keep making this one.

Mrs dcbt and I are having our first night out since baby #2 was born in August. Sipping on some FRSiB while she readies herself. I think the restaurant we are going to has a top shelf selection, and we have a gift card (from my employer as a reward for a crap ton of travel last winter), so I look forward to perhaps trying something new later... I know you're sitting on the edge of your seats.

Kickin’ back with an ETL after putting up The Halloween decorations, and listening to UGA football on the radio.

Working on a Wild Turkey 8yr 101 tonight. Not as good as your 12, but still a damn good bourbon.

^^^^^

I really enjoy the experience of listening to a football game or baseball game on the radio without the visual overload of how games are produced for TV.

Back on subject. RRSiB again tonight

Enjoying some CEHT Single Barrel and Stagg Jr. batch 9 while visiting a friend in Jacksonville.  Brought those two down to share as he not had either before.

I’ll bite. Why Thanksgiving now?

Mrs dcbt and I had a dinner out last night.  The restaurant had plenty of top shelf choices (PVW25 for $280 / pour anyone?), so I decided to splurge and try something I hadn't had before - Lost Prophet 22.  I see the appeal.  Not sure it was worth the $50 or whatever it was, but I enjoyed it immensely.  After dinner we swam over to a swanky hotel bar, where the cheapest pour they had was...Weller 12 for $12.  Yes, please, and thank you.  (Makers was more expensive even.)

Dcbt is right! I'm in Canada and our Thanksgiving is this weekend. Plus we also celebrated my dad's birthday too. My in laws don't really drink so I'm thinking of taking some rare breed with me in a flask :)

Pvw for $280 a pour? That's crazy! Here I've seen 23 for $60 a pour, I haven't gotten the courage to try it yet because I would definitely want a double. I always think I can get a nice bottle of whiskey for that lol.

I believe the PVW he was referring to was the PVW25, which retailed for $1,800 a bottle if I remember correctly, but most sold on the secondary market between $5,000 and $15,000 per bottle. So, I actually didn’t think $280 was that bad of a price if it was actually PVW25.

Wow I had no idea. Ive never seen pvw25 offered at a bar here, only the 23. I had no idea that it retailed for that much.
