I hope the price on that that Baker's is semi-reasonable.

It's good to have 'hopes', however, it's less 'good' when those hopes turn out to so vastly different from the eventual reality.

I’m interested to see the pricing because you can get 14 year old KC barrels at 120 proof for $45. Why would I pay more for a 13 year, 107 proof?

It interesting that the applicant's name is Aviator Distilling but they use the name Aerodrome Distilling on the bottle.

I wonder if the bourbon is really 14 years 4 month old?

I wonder, too.  I think the regs require the "real" label to state the real age but allow the application to include a hypothetical placeholder.  That mash bill of 84% corn caught my eye.  MGP doesn't offer a bourbon with that corn %, and I can't recall if any of the majors do, either.  Hhhhhmmmm.

I think we're looking at George Dickel here. They are finding and selling a lot of 12-14yr old barrels lately, mostly under new labels and WAY over priced.

There is some conversation over the similarities and differences between the different Beam products over in this thread, to me the profile of Baker's, and Booker's for that matter, isn't super similar to KC

Just saw a post from Eddie Russell on social media that this was in fact something he and Jimmy helped to create back in 2012, color me particularly intrigued

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that Old Taylor currently still has a superfluous 6 on the label, a revision has been filed regardless.

I noticed the new label gives Louisville as the address.  That seems new to me.  After ND, the brand went to Beam (Clermont) then to BT (Frankfort) now Loisville?

This is quite confusing. Sazerac didn't sell the brand and Buffalo Trace (Sazerac) is the listed applicant. Sazerac's Kentucky distilleries are in Frankfort (BT) and Bardstown (Barton). The application lists DSP-KY-113 (BT), DSP-KY-24 (Glenmore in Ownesboro, owned by Sazerac but not in use for distillation as far as I know), and DSP-KY-12 (Barton). So it seems as though Sazerac is having someone else make Old Taylor. New Bernheim (Heaven Hill) is in Louisville and Heaven Hill does (did?) contract distillation. Considering Buffalo Trace can probably put everything it makes into one of its currently produced brands at a higher price, maybe it makes sense to have Old Taylor contract distilled.

Trying to figure out JB's business plan, let alone keep track of all those small batch/select/throwback/perfume bottle releases, is a lot of work.  Unless this is a placeholder, this look to me to sit just under their repurposed Baker's.

Keep these ttb things coming as I use them to encourage me to ruminate on bourbon instead of playing iPad games for hours on end.

Hmmmm. Rabbit Hole gets a big buy-in, then clears 4-brands/labels with TTB... Coincidence?

Good News it's back and 1 better, Heaven Hill 7 Year Bottled in Bond

I didn't think the discontinuation of the Heaven Hill 6 BiB was such a big deal, but after reading the back label in this filing, it seems inevitable that Heaven Hill would bring back a BiB under its namesake brand. Hopefully it's a good bourbon at a good price (that people outside of Kentucky can buy).

So while there have been a number of outlets reporting KC is getting it's age statement back, this 12 year old is news to me:

https://www.ttbonline.gov/colasonline/viewColaDetails.do?action=publicDisplaySearchBasic&ttbid=19155001000696

Not my favorite label I've ever seen for a 10 year old seemingly Barrel Proof bourbon, and not just because of the lack of statement on where it was distilled.

The Litchfield distillery is super-close to my son's school in CT-- so they serve it without fail at the parent cocktail socials. I've learned to come prepared with my own flask/s.

Some of the guys in one of the local groups are really going nuts for some of their bottles (I think mostly sourced stuff) but I have to add it to my list of places to check out at this point.

PLEASE NOTE that my flasks are to bring in alternative liquid, as to avoid the possibility of drinking the Litchfield product. I'm pretty sure the glass I dumped in the bathroom sink was their own distillate.
