Richnimrod
I'm wondering about that "Woodford Five wood". How do they count the 'woods'? I mean new American Oak since it is Bourbon; that's ONE. Sherry casks; that's TWO. Port Casks; that's THREE. Do they shuttle the whiskey back and forth between those wine casks? (So, maybe the Bourbon is in each type twice?) (Or are those wine barrels assembled from two different types of woods?) The labels don't explain... or at least I didn't feel it was explained. Anybody?

Anybody? Back in about 1966 when I was in Math class in "college", we studied this "combinations" vs. "permutations" idea. It was something like 1 2 3 4 is a "combination" but it became a permutation if you did stuff like 1 3 2 4 or 1 4 2 3 etc. I never did figure out "C" vs. "P" other than that there were a shitload more P's than C's. SO, when the whole Makers Mark stave crap arose, I dug out my old math books to see if I could figure out WTH they talking about. I couldn't. APPROVED SOLUTION - Ask the Seller if you can taste them before buying. IF YES, buy what you like. IF NO, walk away. That's a pretty easy flowchart we ALL can follow. BY THE WAY, anybody else out there get redirect to https://www.responsibility.org/ whenever you try to access the MM website? FWIW, I have NO intention of sharing ANY of my stash with anybody not old enough to appreciate it. EDIT - I just wish the responsibility people believed me so I could get to the MM website. Vosgar
I'd really like to get a bottle of the RR 2003 because a) low barrel entry proof b) it ended up with a lower barrel proof, and that always intrigues me c) age d) I love WT. What the label doesn't say is if it is or isn't non-chill filtered. As for the FR, I miss the days when they listed the age and recipes used to make the whiskey on the back of the bottle. You never knew the percentages and in the long run it didn't really matter, but I still enjoyed having the info.
