I’m having a CRS attack at the moment. The last batch does seem dramatic and very tater-baitish. Barton doesnt doesnt have a house rye brand. They source all of it. They used to send a lot of stuff to High West (maybe they still do?). The HW Rendezvous Rye and MWND from 5+ years ago are held in much high esteem than the stuff since then. That's due to them including older Barton rye. I don't know of all the other places that source rye from Barton. There are much more knowledgable folks on here that may chime in on that. Fairly certain EH Taylor Rye is the Barton House Rye Brand DSP-KY-12 is listed on the label and I'm guessing DSP-KY-113 is on the label as that is where it is bottled as the bottling line would be the same as the other Taylor products, Barton/1792 bottles are both really different.

I thought EHT rye was, but I wasnt sure. I definitely could've looked up the label then looked up the DSPs. Oh well. You do great work at keeping this TTB thread up to date, Kevin. kevinbrink
Thanks, I used to enjoy @sku's weekly blog posts so when he stopped I started looking myself, figured I might as well share what I found interesting(?). Also should not that SKU still posts some filings on twitter and I pretty much only see the other categories (Rum/Brandy/etc.) when he posts them. I've evolved this to have some "rules" I typically only post American (occasionally Canadian sourced) whiskey though admittedly I tend to browse some of the other world whiskey filings as well and generally speaking if it isn't 4 years old I don't post unless their is some "issue" with the label or it's something that seems truly unique. It usually takes between 5-15 minutes to throw this together so it's no huge undertaking though this weekends was kind of lengthy since I had taken a longer "break" between posts so it actually probably took me a whopping 20 minutes.

That's too bad. I like the heft and "presence" that the thick bottom and squared off shoulders give the current bottle. The raised molded in glass lettering was nice, too, though print on glass could be OK. Then again, I'm not a solely "what's in the bottle is all that matters" kind of guy. An attractive and well designed label and bottle does enhance my experience with a whiskey that has them, and I embrace that fact.

BUT, the label is not orange and blue, so I went looking for some other "National Champions". I found dog shows, Division 2 basketball (congrats, Bearcats), figure skating, and wrestling, none of which were related to Virginia. I returned to the application and found some fine print on the back label. The label features LSU's colors and explains that one of RB/RMF's partners is from Louisiana. The label says NOTHING about LSU or football. I sure wish I knew WHY resolving such conundrums is so important to me. But then, I'm sure some of YOU wondered about the color issue, too.

Last Summer, I had to go to Balmer and hit some Ellicott City stores on the way up and back and picked up a few (less than 4 IIRC) of their CS store picks. You might check their inventories to see if they have any left. I liked all the flavors they had, but with Summer coming up, one cannot have too many wheateds. Maybe they, too, are discounting.
