In 2013 I helped a local liquor store do a barrel pick of GD 9y, and they gave me the sample box with what was left. Decided to try them again just for fun. 

The one we picked is still the best.

After an evening of listening to “baby shark” on repeat it was time for some of this dark chocolate goodness.

I feel ya. Except mine was 2 kids not wanting to eat. One refused to chew and swallow and was just letting it drool out.[emoji2962]

There is a lot of Baby Shark in this house also. And consequently a lot of drinking.

I wanted to start the week on a good note so I went with a 12 year old, barrel proof, Boone County.  It went so well, I followed it up with a ECBP C918.

I know the feeling.   When my son was here for the Holidays, he was doing this (the drooling it out thing).   But, he's passing 40-years old already and should know better.    Take THAT, Gary! :lol:  HA!

Grabbed this at a shop while in KY this past week. Cracked her open and thought ‘man damn, she is runnin’ hot for rose’. Took another peak at the front. 127 OESV. Y’all ever seen one that high?

NO but they seem to keep getting higher. Something is definitely off at FR these days. Can't seem to put my finger on it, but proof is up and quality is down IMO.

It was a snow day for the kids up here so that meant it was a triple pour day. Started with a SB Buffalo Trace. I followed that up with some FR Small Batch. Then for the night cap, revisited the bottle of EC Store Pick I purchased on Saturday. It is still going strong so that means another bottle will need to find its way to the bunker in the basement.

^^^^Smoothest (and best) 4R's I've ever tasted was at 140 proof (out of the QC lab).

I believe the "6Q" in the barrel number means the sixth and top tier of the warehouse.  So the hottest location which would contribute to the higher proof.

Listening to some jazz music while having a couple of pours from a low fill Binny’s ps ER. The music will last. Not sure if the ER will though. I have an odd feeling that it probably won’t make it to the end of the week. ^_^

Work has been on the manic side of life lately, so for my 35th Anniversary, the Honey & I, rented a bed and breakfast for the weekend in our own little town...

We started out Fri night, at the Whiskey Bar where a pour of my first Pappy 15 was shared with My Baby, my Son & his Wife, who had joined us. Next came a first pour of GTS; a 2018 joint. I regret that my palate wasn't hitting on all cylinders & I didn't have 1/4 bottle so it was almost wasted. I could tell that the Pappy was smooth & the GTS was waaaay more flavorful. I finished there with a pour of their own barrel version of Antique 107. Most of that was mine and it awakened my palate a bit...

We went to a local brewery next, where one of the owners is Josh Sitton. He and ex Green Bay compadre, Jordy Nelson were serving beers, taking pics & signing autographs. It was kinda kool...

After a few hours & more than enough beers, we mosied on to get a bite; finally!!!

Man o man, you don't need a microscope to see where this night is going! We ended up at the Wine Bar for food & a nightcap. I was directed to a pour of, The Burning Chair which was surprisingly, quite flavorful. Life would have been wonderful had I not finished off a glass of Cabernet that my wife wanted help with...

The rest of the weekend was grand even though I didn't touch another drop of anything but water & Gatorade...

 

In fact I was done until tonight.  I'm on a second pour of my fake Blanton's. Oh it says Blanton's but it is so much closer to an ER profile than any previous Blanton that I have tasted...

Thats funny, because I’ve had a few ER store picks that were actually barrels of mash bill #2.  One of them was fantastic, but didn’t taste much like standard ER

I'd like to say I was really enjoying my WSR PS pour tonight, but about halfway through it I actually forgot what I was drinking. It was, dare I say this fishbowljoe, bland as hell.

Wheater night after a long work day. Started with RYSB 10yr, than some MM PS at 110.7, followed by some OWA. Odd but the MM is winning tonight, I actually pick up some chocolate and definitely has the most flavor.
