New Riff just released  some SB rye today.  You had a choice of 12 barrels to pick from, with a 2 bottle limit.

I bought a couple.

You have to pick them up from the distillery. Fortunately,  a friend of mine lives within walking distance, so she'll pick them up and bring them, the next time that she's in town.

@ $55.99 + tax, per bottle, it won't break the bank if I don't like them.

I've gone through several bottles of New Riff, and I really like it. I haven't tried the rye yet, so I'm looking forward to it.

I "picked" barrels 1941 & 2292

Well, it was still on the shelf this week, so I picked up a bottle of Old Ezra Barrel Strength. I also decided to give VOB 86 Proof another shot and in honor of Craft Whiskey day I picked up a bottle of Old Nick Williams (ONW) Bourbon. This batch, not as good as the last.

Tried the Old Ezra for the first time recently and it's really good. I'm finding it gets even better with some air time. Enjoy.

Bought another backup RHF. Never know when I’ll see them these days so why not when I see it under $60

Last one I bought was about $60. Last one I saw in a store was $199!

I got to try the Rye Single Barrel at Bourbon's Bistro when we were back home in March and thought it was fantastic. I doubt you will think it was a mistake and will hopefully enjoy every last drop!

Thanks!   I love the bourbon, so I'm sure that I'll love it.    I'm lucky that a friend of ours lives near the distillery, because we can't get it here in Maryland.

I should be picking my RHF up in the Chicagoland area next week as well. I think they came in yesterday or the day before.

Went in the LS for some OGD BIB and left with some EHT as well. I couldn’t pass up for $38 especially when OGD only set me back $21.

Bought a bit more than I wanted to, but being overzealous isn’t new for me.

Like some others here, I found an appreciation for what Distillers Cut delivers. Nice sipper IMHO. Most stores are sold out, but found a place and grabbed a couple. Great price point. Understand  this will be an annual release?

Also decided to revisit ER10 after a long break...even though I’ve had a big brother store select sitting on my bar for over a year (been waiting for a family gathering  to crack it open).

Anyway, I enjoyed the revisit with ER. I can see this this becoming a more regular pour. Especially for the price.

Hopefully soon,  I’ll be able to see how the PS bottle stands up against an off the shelf grab...and  if I can tell the difference.

Right there with you on Distiller’s Cut. I have one store with it still on the shelf and I grabbed one today. I have done some blind testing against Legent and I have a very difficult time differentiating between the two. Throw in the price difference and it’s the Best Buy out there right now.

Had never met one of these in person until today...and was able to purchase two of them!  Also, picked up a Blanton’s and a couple Antique 107s from the same LS.  This particular, very customer-friendly LS has yet to bump up their prices on these.  So, for me, in this control state, where some of the allocated BT stuff is quite difficult to come by - it was a GREAT day!

Those ETL's CAN be wonderful....

However, it ain't no guarantee.

Being a single barrel, they absolutely vary from barrel to barrel.    I've a couple that were pretty close to sublime, and a few that ranged between ordinary and 'uninspiring'... and one that was plain lousy.

Do you know if  both of your bottles are from the same barrel?    Here's hoping it's one of the former ones, and not the latter.   (What did you give for the ETL's?)

Don’t know for sure (as there’s nothing I can see on the bottle), but I’m assuming they’re probably both from the same barrel?  The LSs here typically get a small number of bottles rather than full cases with these, whenever they do manage to get them, so who knows?  Gave $33.99 for the ETL, $23.89 for the OWA, and the fairly standard (for here) $59.99 for the Blanton’s.

Figured with all the talk about this possibly going away, I would just grab one for the bunker now.

I don’t drink it often enough, but I like Bakers, and someday in the future I’m going to want to go back in time.

Very nice prices!    ...At least compared to hereabouts... and I imagine, many other areas, as well.

As to the barrel ID, I thought perhaps it may have been a 'store pick' (which would've guaranteed both are identical), since you mentioned grabbing two bottles.     Most places I've seen in the last couple years limit purchases to a single bottle.    Since these weren't from a private pick, there is a chance, however slight, they may be from separate barrels.         ...Maybe pop the cork on both and compare... just for grins and giggles?

I did the same this week for the same reason.

Yep, it’s normally a limit of one on the more scarce stuff here, too - particularly anything Weller - and Blanton’s.  The really scarce stuff rarely, if ever, even makes it to the shelves.  In this case, they offered me two of each...which I very appreciatively accepted!  I only wanted (needed?) the one Blanton’s, as I have a bit of that already.

And, yep, at some point, I’ll have both of these ETLs open and be able to compare them.  I’m looking forward to it!
