Phil T
Last night it was WT 101, a spicy, solid, no frills bourbon. I bought several family sized bottles in Florida in early July. Finally opened one last night. At just under $30 for a 1.75, it almost feels like stealing.
Skinsfan1311
Well...I bought it...might as well try it. Mrs. Skinsfan, (a big MM fan), loves it. Initial impression? It's pretty good, not great, but good. It's not as sweet as regular MM, or the 46, which is a good thing. I'd buy it again, for Mrs Skinsfan, and a change of pace.
JCwhammie
GW4G on a cube while watching Sooners football. I vatted this a few weeks ago. I'm pretty indifferent about it. I'll likely wait a while to come back to it.

I don't know why sb blends become "poor man's" something-another elsewhere (same thing happened with sb blend becoming poor man's pappy even if it was close to poor man's centennial.)

elmossle
Long list of pours on this lazy Sunday. Started the day with the end of GTS '18. Very blessed to have gotten as many as I did last year and will be very happy with just 1 this year. I decided to stay in the 15 yr old group with some Forged Oak. The extra oaky taste was a nice change of pace. Next was a state pick of KCSB that I haven't had in a while. After the kids were in bed, it was time for a night cap with a store pick of EC. I think it will be time to open some new bottles tomorrow to end the long weekend and to get set for the start of the NFL season on Thursday. Cheers!
Skinsfan1311
Stagg Jr #10. It's one of their better releases, IMHO.

Bob_Loblaw
Got into this one Saturday with the fam. Drank a bit more of it then I would have preferred given price, but had already killed the WT101 bottle and it was a great time.
fosmith
The end of a great evening of steak dinner and tasting with my son. The wine was an '86 AV Cab and was perfection. But so were the Pappy 15 and the L'Encantada XO. And, yes, they were small pours as he had to drive home after...

Willet has always hit me just right and I find the BIB to be very good. Don't know that I would call it cheap. Value? For me, yes.

GTStagg
Orange, vanilla, caramel, and clove. My mom used to take oranges and stick cloves in them in designs and use them as a fragrant decoration. This tastes like how I remember that smell if that makes sense. I am really enjoying this bottle more as I get deeper into it.

PaulO
I've been enjoying EW BIB. There still is quality and reasonably priced bourbon out there.

GTStagg
I set up a blind with ECBP B519 and a StaggJR batch 8. Although I had my son set it up, I couldn't fool myself. The nose of the BT mashbill 1 is so drastically different from Heaven Hill that I know what they are before tasting. BT mashbill 1 is distinctly sweet on the nose while the Heaven Hill is earthy. Stagg Jr batch 8 was all cherries and chocolate on the palate for me. The 129 proof was not overly harsh on the palate, but very evident in the chest, providing a strong hug, or perhaps more accurately, a two fisted squeeze of the heart. The ECBP was a wonderfully easy drink at 122 proof. Citrus and caramel gave way to a hint of nut and spice on the finish, very little burn on the palate, and a warm firm hug in the chest. It is difficult to pick a favorite as the profiles were so drastically different, but if I could only keep one bottle I would have to go with the ECBP. The few extra years in the barrel served it well. I will probably be more likely to reach for the Stagg Jr after a particularly challenging day at work. BMartin42
SBS of Bond & Lillard (WT) batch 2 vs. WTKS (new bottle). Well this wasn’t even a fair fight. WTKS won in every aspect I thought of. Depth of flavor, mouthfeel, nose, finish, etc. just blew the B & L out of the water.
