BottledInBond
I picked up a 1792 12 year and a McKenna 10 year for about $80+ tax total
parksmart
Picked up a couple Baker’s 7 year SiB at Costco for $44.99 before tax. One for me, and one for @fosmith! Then snagged him an HMcK10 for $32.99 before tax. Not the worst pair of bottles to spend $86 total on......

And seemingly forgot to change the price. Every once in a while. Biba! Joe

JoeWell, He said it was Costco, and they’re pretty good about getting bar code SKUs entered correctly. I’m guessing that it’s the difference in California liquor taxes, and the ability of Costco to combine store buying power to get a ridiculously low large quantity purchase price in California. Oooops. I forgot the reference to Costco. My bad. Sudden CRS kicking in. (Sighhhhh.) Biba! Jim
gurgalunas
Bought a Rossville Union Store Pick "Savory". MGP is doing a different "store pick" offering with this brand. It's not a single barrel pick, but a barrel quantity of a blended rye. They do multiple rye mashbills, so are able to offer a Sweet (51% rye), a Spicy (95% rye) and a Savory (blend of 51% and 95%) to stores with store pick labeling. A local LS had this tasting awhile back, and got a "barrel" of each.

Dunno about CA liquor taxes. Costco does apply a pretty low standard markup on all products they sell, and their profit predominantly comes from the annual membership fees they collect. Definitely wasn't a function of an old shelf tag.......
fishnbowljoe
After all this talk about the Baker"s SB, I decided to open mine last night. I'm not all that fond of most Beam products, but I've always liked Baker's. I like the Single Barrel even more. Biba! Joe

Thanks for the description, as I wasnt aware they were different mashbill or that they weren't actually single barrels. They're 100 proof, right? Let us know how the spicy is, as I'll likely buy one. Double C's
picked up a couple 375ml bottles of a BT PS last night. It will be fun to compare different barrels side by side with the standard bottling.

The spicy is better than the sweet if we’re thinking of the same store.
ABVT
Said I was going to wait until after I found out about lotteries before making another purchase. Unlike the other guy, these bakers were 64$ each and the Nikka was 66$. Unfortunately the McKenna price has crept up to 40$ here.

I trust your MGP rye judgement Id probably get the regular Rossville Barrel proof first (it’s excellent) (and a kinda “savory” blend of both mashes) even though the price is higher . -then bone snapper 4y reserve -then the store pick rossville spicy

I love 4R PS too. They seem to be a lot more challenging for me to find on the places I typically visit recently. They used to be all over and frequently 9-10 years or more. I am hoping to find a few more in TN and GA next month when I take the next road trip. After you acquire enough of these picks, you sometimes find that you have bottles from two different barrels that were aged side-by-side in the warehouse, at roughly the same time and the same recipe. Those are always fun to do a comparison tasting of to see how even they can vary. I salute your fine taste in bourbon!
