robertckim
Barrell Dovetail, Costco $69.99 Whenever I wanted to try this at a bar, it's seems to be priced more than it should - looking forward to having my own bottle.

Bob_Loblaw
Well it’s been quite some time since I’ve had a surprise find, but was at our local grocery store in a very Polish neighborhood looking for hornet spray (oddly sold out all over the place) and walked by the liquor counter to see if they still had JB Distillers Cut. They did not, but scanned the shelf and there sat 3x JD Eric Church SiB at MSRP! Grabbed all three and dropped one with a buddy on the way home. The second is for my cousin who is just starting out in bourbon and I’m stockpiling bottles for him. Last one for me. Nope, no guilt for buying all three from a grocery store as two are spoken for and going to bourbon drinkers.
webfoots
I made an attempt to appease the BT allocation gods and dropped 29.99 on a bottle of Sazerac Rye. I’m currently working through a couple other ryes so it won’t be opened for a while.

My thought thus far has been that unless its really special, I'm more apt to add $10 to get a JD barrel proof (if I'm buying a JD product). But I am intrigued by this. Unfortunately this one is going in the long queue as I am only opening bottles that will be emptied within a few weeks at the moment to minimize efforts when we move (hopefully in next 2-3 months). Once in the new place I expect to be a frequent poster in the what did you open thread for awhile. But if you are a fan of JD I would say pick it up. To my inner tater it's a pretty awesome bottle/label and will look nice next to my JDSiBBP bottles that I was part of the pick. In fact, I just picked up the empty JD Barrel a few weeks ago!

TwoFingers
Enjoying some WT101. I think someone has been dipping into my bottle. It always seems to be on the low side. silverc
The new Maker's Mark wood finishing release from 2020 is rolling out in VA ABC stores this week. I grabbed one at $60, and while I was there saw a bottle of the new Little Book #4. I was not planning to get it , so that was a bit of an impulse buy. I really liked Little Book #3 but could never find a bottle. I also really liked the brown rice bourbon Beam released a few years, so I hope this is good, as it was $125.

Radioyada
Picked up a Garrison Brothers PS Cask Strength while at lunch with the boss. I had the opportunity try a sample before the store ordered the barrel, and was waiting for it to arrive.

Sgtspitter101
Purchased a weller 107 today. Not proud of the price but was 80 dollars cheaper than the next closest bottle.
webfoots
If your local Safeway grocery sells liquor they are running a 30% off deal for bourbon month on certain labels (WT101, Bulliet, KC..). I picked up a yellow label FR 750 for 17.

I picked up a yellow label FR 750 for 17.99 Yeah, but they marked up Eagle Rare to $49.99 before discounting the 30% making it $34.99 after the discount. Last week it was $29.99 Club Card price and $26.99 with the six bottle (mix and match) 10% discount. Similar game with WT101 and EW BiB. Kinda disingenuous if you ask me. fosmith
Stopped at Total Wine today and picked up two more bottles of JB Distiller's cut for $18 ea. before it's gone for good. Also picked up one bottle each of 9yr age stated Knob Creek (first time I've seen it and am going to do a SBS with the old 9yr and the NAS version) and KC Cask Strength Rye barreled in 2010 (first time I've seen that one also).

No doubt they play price games. Mine had ER for 29.99 for months before it totally disappeared. I saw the new tag on the shelf with the $49 but no bottles. Thankfully my store keeps EW BiB in stock and it’s been around $13 all year
fosmith
Oh, and also ordered a few bottles of VOB100 today from K&L for $15 ea. They had it a few times in the last couple of months ago but it had sold out instantly. They listed it again today showing more than 60 bottles in stock. Before this, I'd never seen VOB anywhere in CA. I'm excited to try it.
