Passed on ECBP at $80.  Same store had it a few months ago at $70 and thought it was a tad overpriced then but bought it anyway.

As a fellow SB'r told me...I might regret it.  It is basically same specs as GTS.  A 12 year old barrel proofer.

FYI, I spent more than a few years as a member of the USA Swimming Rules Committee.  The most valuable folks when we were debating rules changes were people who had to learn English as a second language and NOT native American (not necessarily English) speakers.  🥴

That's probably because they had someone like me to mentor them. 😇

But seriously, becoming proficient in a second language has cognitive benefits related to new or alternate neural pathways being established.  This would be true regardless the languages in question.  If you had some native English speakers that were also bilingual, they should be on par with you English language learner friends debating rules.

Back on topic - It looks like I'm passing everything in Kroger's 30% off sale (hard to believe).  They simply have raised the prices too much prior to this.  I can get said items even cheaper somewhere else.

True. But what do you call someone who is fluent in 3 languages?  Trilingual.

What do you call someone who is fluent in 2 languages?  Bilingual.

What do you call someone who is flient in 1 language?  An American.  🤣

That's funny because for the most part it's true.

I'll also add: can't locate other countries on a map, don't know world history, and are afraid of food new to them (which is almost everything). 🙃

Has anyone tried Calumet Farms 15?   I let it go today, but certainly wondering if anyone has tried it?

If not, any thoughts on the other older labels, 14, etc??

Struggling with the mystery, but intrigued by the age.  LOL

I have the 14 and it's super sweet. Like dessert. Candy-like.

Yeah I agree with this. It’s actually fantastic but I’m not a fan of the price. My buddy’s wife surprised him with a expensive bottle of bourbon and he shared. The oak was an awesome sweet oak similar to knob creek 12.

I was possibly visualizing from the Turkey's perspective.  It would feel like it's on the far left facing us.

And, I used to teach English as a second language (ESL).

That would be a great visual from a whiskey bottle's perspective.

"Crap, here comes a tater.  He just wants me for my label."

A 375 ml bottle to a 750 ml bottle, "Look mama, that guy is back again."

In Indiana, I am not certain that indigenous Hoosiers are fluent in any language, including English.  They speak often speak a language we call "a different level of stupid."  Where else does "crick" mean "creek?"

Me - Native Hoosier, fluent in bourbon, soccer and the language of love. 🤣

I have seen the CF 14 at Costco recently for $99.  I have not tried it so I am not even sure why I am replying to this post.  However, the shelf was several cases deep so there must be a lot of it out there.  I know it is sourced but I don't recall where it is speculated to be from.  I will say that I don't care if something is sourced as long as I know where it came from and specifics on age, chill filtration, etc.  $99 is pricey for me but in today's market is probably not bad for a 14 year old bourbon if you like the distillate of the source of the whiskey.

Stuck my head into the local Costco, to see if they've started carrying the Kirkland 120 proof, single barrel (sourced from Barton 1792).  But the only new item was Willett

Dragging this on, yes, that is a Pittsburgh/Ohio/WV and general high society white trash term.  Crick, worsh, slippy, hausse (house), dahn er, and jagoff also apply.

On topic, passed on JDSBBP, it's regularly available here just didn't feel like spending $65 per bottle yesterday.

Nope and it's mighty spendy for mystery whiskey that is likely rebottled Dickel.
