Back from picking up my summer camper in California-- greeted by a few bottles that arrived during my absence (along with a couple of K&L picks I made on the road).

It tastes even better than it looks-- really fabulous stuff. The 51.3% ABV is a bonus.

I can certainly bring you a nice sample-- but it was a K&L private selection that I picked up in Hollywood last week… and unfortunately they don't ship outside of California.

Pretty nifty TSA friendly kit… I find the Lagavulin 8yo in a flask amusing. I think it would be better without the glasses.

That's OK! I still have my own sources... 😉

Sounds like a beefed-up version of the standard 12 with no goofy finishes… a much appreciated offering.

I saw this today and just could not pass it up. Everything I’ve tried from Linkwood has been really good. So a CS 23y from them should be very nice. I opened it up in the store and let the guys there try it out. It was so good I almost bought another right then, but I held off. Wow this is good.

That would indeed be a tough bottle to pass up, the Signatory CSC offerings are typically top notch and Linkwood seems to handle age quite well. I've got a Cadenhead bottling that's become somewhat of a standard-setter around here.

Need help I’m Hong to LMDW this Friday in Paris.  I was thinking about getting one of there Artist bottles which is on stock.

it’s however a Benrinnes 15 year.  I have a 14 Benrinnes from Cadenheads, ex hogsheads that I don’t care much for.  It seems to young and green but perhaps due to the cask.

what do you guys think?  175 euros isn’t cheap for me.  Anything you’d pick if you where stopping into LMDW?

I have never purchased an Artist bottle, but they seem massively overpriced, frankly. Also Benrinnes is not something I would pay that much for.

However... I would say that what would probably be best is, go to LMDW and buy whatever you want to buy on the day that will remind you of the trip when you're back sipping on your porch or wherever. That will be of far more value than hunting down a recommendation. Plus they'll probably have some cool stuff in store that isn't on the website.

I would take beasled’s great advice and see what speaks to you. I had a similar experience with The Whisky Exchange in London two years ago with a self-imposed single bottle limit and it was great fun.

Thought I made a post here.  Thanks, exactly kind of info I’m looking for.  I think I’ll past.

Not purchased by me but my birthday was last week.  Friends and family were very good to me.  I scored a couple of Springbanks, a CB GKS Artist Blend, a WhistlePig, and a nice bottle of Barolo.

Not sure what was happening but wasn’t able to insert text.  Now I’m able to.  Decided to try a peated 10 year Bunnahabhain from Signatory.  I must of liked it as me and rye husband of the couple I was staying with drank 2/3rds in two nights.

Slightly hustled on the Armagnac, it’s 77euros for a 25 year old aged spirit but it’s a 50CL and not 70CL, need to pay better attention.

Also forgot to mention it seems like the Blantons in France keeps going up like 20 euros every 6 months or so.  I wear I was paying 60-70 euros just for SFTB just a few years ago.

From a Washington DC crap gouger joint where every bottle of bourbon was $189.99--had been on the shelf for 10 years covered in dust-- wasn't even in their system. I've had quite the luck with these old Chieftain's botlings-- other than the corks.

What do you thing of Jura in general?  I hear a lot of bad but assume a lot has to with its low proof and over filtration.  This seems looks a good way to try it.
