Seems like the 30th Anniversary Signatory bottle should be 30 years old! How old is the Ardnamurchan? The distillery under that name hasn't been around very long but I suppose they could be supplementing with older stock from Adelphi or elsewhere. Don't know much about either brand. It's supposedly in the 6 to 7 year old range-- all their own distillate. I've had some great Adelphi independent bottlings-- but they're relatively scarce in the States. I'll let you know when I get it opened.
Marekv8
The Peat Monster gift pack is a great deal (and a great gift). There was a rush for the Lagavulin after the Whisky Advocate ranking release… so I was inclined to sock one away.

n811
Getting into a 2021 bottle of GlenAllachie 12 year as an introduction to the range. If everything else is as good as this, then I may have found another favorite distillery. Independently owned? Natural color? Non chill filtered? Sign me up. It's delicious too - dusty cocoa accompanies the expected sherried speyside goodness.

The Talisker Storm has become a sneaky good value if you don't mind the NAS, $40 in the Atlanta area.

And although I like them and its great that a charity got some money I would not pay $400+ for either of them. Not sure I would pay that for the two combined. But I am "frugal" these days...

PaulO
I picked up something new for me - Tomatin 12 year single malt Bourbon and Sherry casks. I'm relatively new on my journey with Scotch, beyond the basic blends. Reading labels, it seemed promising, age statement and all. I got it home, and found a Ralfy review. That's a good sign. He never posts a review just to say something is awful. Now, if you can't find a Ralfy review of a widely available bottling ... Anyway, this Tomatin 12 is an unpeated Scotch. That's sort of a novelty to me. I think I could detect the Sherry influence on the nose. Not bad, but different. I need to let it breath, and spend some time with it.
