Enjoying some Blanton’s tonight, along with a nice cigar and some Terrapin Station on the patio speakers.  Definitely a nice night.  Cigar is a Palmetto State, a local cigar made by Alec Bradley.  It’s a really smooth smoke that pairs well with pretty much any bourbon I choose.

I’ve been on a 1792 kick lately and am beginning to think it may be the best balance of quality and price, but it hasn’t quite surpassed WT101 in my book just yet.  But it’s close.

Have you tried any of the Thomas Moore products?  Just under 100 proof, $70.  I've had the Port and Chardonnay finish, Chardonnay pleasing, I might get another.

I've been evangelizing Coopers Craft, low proof for low price.  Though I'll think different tomorrow, other day in side by side I liked Coopers over ER10 and WT101 in spite of Coopers low proof.  I've not tried with standard 1792 but of course Thomas Moore blew doors off Coopers

Last night's pour.  Daayum!  This is good for $10.  Never had this before but saw it at Total Wine the other day and picked up one to try it.  Honey caramel on the nose and cinnamon candy on the palate.  Lots of flavor and good mouthfeel for 80 proof and a decent finish too.  I don't remember liking my last bottle of Blanton's this much.  I'm thinking of going back and getting a case.

Try the triple A, AAA, Ancient Ancient Age also.  20 years ago the AAA unbelievable 10 year old and they gave it away.

Haven’t had any of the Thomas Moore stuff, and don’t recall seeing it recently. I’ll be on the lookout for sure, thanks for the tip!  That has no unintended interpretation, by the way, for anyone with their mind in the gutter.

I haven't tried the 1792 yet...it's intriguing at the price it sells for at the place I see it at... :D

Gonna keep an eye out for Ancient Age...I think that same place has it in handles, but I don't know if I want to chance a handle...

Oh, what am I drinking....MM. Will probably have another squirt of KC9 before the night is over....

I recall having purchased several bottles over the years.  I have one unopened bottle of AAA 10 year that my wife's uncle gave me several years ago.  He actually gave me two.  Funny thing is he didn't drink much later in life but he always stocked bourbon for guests.  One of his bottles was AA90.  He lived in Frankfort, KY before moving to Texas to be near his grandkids.  He passed a few years ago.  One of my favorite people in the world.  One day I will open it to celebrate in his memory.

Tonight's pour was OF100 while enjoying a music battle between Chrissy Hynde v. Ann Wilson.  I was the winner both with the bourbon and music.

Repost as I was in the old thread: Found a EC BP A120 on the shelf today... HAD to try it after everyone calling it a hot mess on YouTube throughout 2020.

Last night was WT101 over a clear cube followed by a bottle kill on my HW Double Rye syrah finish, which I really enjoyed overall, but was also a perfect counterpoint to the Turkey to keep the evening interesting. Wide spectrum of flavors between the two, but both were on point.

I picked up a KC 9 year old last evening. I hadn't had it for quite a while. I always liked it... and I still do!

Bought this as a consolation prize after striking out on bigger fish in a new state (working at OSU during the week) and I just had to crack it open and check it out and pretty much had same reaction you described. I’m def going back to pick up a bottle or two possible a handle. I love my Blantons and especially like my Hancock’s reserve, but this stuff for ~$11 otd is great!
