How are they?

Pretty  good. I thought the bourbons I tried were better than the rye. But very young, I think the bourbons were 1 year and the rye was 18 months. Plus a little expensive for a 375 that could be purchased at the distillery. Probably won't look for this on a shelf but might buy another bottle if we go back to the distillery. Only a couple miles from home and I like to support local.

Don't need a picture for this one, just the math.  Ohio raised Joseph Magnus to $100 ($107 otd). Just got delivered 4 750ml bottles to my door from out of state for $85 each which includes delivery. Saved total of $88 (but not my liver).

Cheers!

You did well!  Enjoy!

The only pass for me would be EC18.  However, I don't like older >12-14 year old bourbons.  By most accounts, those who like EC18, love it!  I am ok with anchovies on my pizza, but most accounts. most people absolutely hate them.  Not my first choice, but when it comes to pizza, it takes a lot to turn me off.  Same thing with EC18, not my first choice but I am sure I could find a way to enjoy it.

it's my first bottle of EC18. the 2 pours i've had at bars were lovely to my taste. Had to do it. The Bulleit blenders select is a real sleeper at $48, and the Smoke Wagon uncut, Remus 5, and Belle Meade Reserve are favorite MGPs. I feel the BM reserve will be disappearing, so was ok paying $75 for it.

May regret this, but purchased EC18 per @Rhettro’s suggestion for $210 OTD 😢.

Apparently I have 30 days to return if I change my mind so…

in today's world $200+ for 18 year old not bad, for whiskey, whisky, and etc.  maybe not a rum.  whistlepig asking $400 for their sourced 18 year rye.  and if you've not had before, now you'll know what it is.  downside, you might like it and go searching for a pricier pre-fire.

Makes sense, appreciate it! If it tastes anything like older KC picks I’ve had (like biting into a tree), I’m sure I will love it.

Being a rum lover, $200 can buy you unobtainium pretty regularly.

EC18, bottled last summer and released last week for $159.99, OTD around here.  And I thought that was high but I bought some anyway - I'm soooo weak (or still hung over from my trip to Mizzou)!  😅

was just released last week in Ohio too - 149.99 is the state price.   We just saw a bunch of increases this calendar year, not sure how they missed this one!

LOL.

I know its now very expensive (almost $200 if I remember) in Bardstown and in Louisville at the flagship stores.

Irritates me that our markup is so high.

Group pick of ECBP.  First time getting the non standard release.  Not entirely sure that less age for a premium makes sense but I trust the guys who picked it.

Is that the SFWBSS pick?  Congratulations on getting picked by the randomizer.  They said there was over 500 entries.  Unfortunately I missed out.  BTW, Ledger's has a ECBP pick.  Have you had that one?  It's a bit pricey at $100 but I might pull the trigger if you recommend it.

Yep, the randomizer landed for me.

I’ve been contemplating the Ledger’s pick because Ed picks great stuff but the price…

I’m thinking about grabbing the Ledger’s pick to do a side by side for myself.  Then maybe, probably if I get off my ass, I’ll offer up sets to get some of my coin back because I really don’t need two more bottles.  At least that’s what I’m going to tell myself.

1L of ET BIB. Every so often 1, and only 1, store near me will get a few bottles in. Always grab it when I see it.

For store picks, I have lived & died by this philosophy. There is a young lady here that has my attention every time she makes a pick. Only once has it been ok.(MM staves) Every other has been stellar including the latest 4r SIB. The barrel picker group here is average at best...

Wouldn't happen to have been a place in Destin would it?  I had a very pleasant experience with the Irishman who runs the place while visiting.

I'd be in for some of that if you go that route.  I'm pretty close to Berkeley where you are...

Today's my birthday and the wife surprised me with this. Afraid to ask how much she paid 😕

Edit: Batch 15

You’re missing the point.  Open it up and enjoy a pour.

Happy Birthday.

I had 30 days to return an unopened bottle for a refund if I wanted it.

I did and returned the EC18 yesterday. Best decision I made all day.

FW&GS allows returns?

Surprisingly yes!  14 days actually if something is unopened and you still have receipt and payment method.
