Still the best value in bourbon.

…and I would open the lone bottle in my cabinet if I could just find another bottle or two. 🤬

Finished this one off at the office.

Sounds like my office.  Here's what the floor next to my desk looks like.  Helps that I am self-employed and work from home.

Their BIB expression was my introduction to New Riff.  Good bye, my friend.

Nothing special. Just a regular bottle of ECSB that I hope to replace at the state store tomorrow. Just telling the wife that I am getting more wine for her!

  • 2 weeks later...

This was a great bottle from Westport Whiskey & Wine.  I will be there in person Friday.  The same person who recommended this bottle just flagged two more from WWW that he bought.  He knows my palate and I've learned to trust him, so I'll be picking a few up.  I thankfully have two more of these left.

Poured the last of 2 bottles last night. WTRR and a store pick Starlight Double barreled single barrel. Both were very good and already have a replacement for the WTRR, but working to see if I can replace the Starlight that definitely grew on me the longer it was open.

Our first Wild Turkey finished. I got this back in January and I remember not particularly liking the first glass, it got better as the bottle went on. I think my taste developed rather than the bourbon.

That's the 81 proof version.  It's ok but just too watered down.  The 101 proof is the one that get all the praise.

Worked on another almost done one to make way for the new.  Sad to see this one go.  Will find another.

A quartet headed out to the bin.

The FRYL was a freezer bottle, and went fast with the heat we've been getting.

The MM 101 scratched the itch when I wanted a wheated. Going to replace it next trip out.

The ET BIB may still be one of the best everyday workhorse bourbons. So easy to drink and enjoy.

The BT SBS was a nice treat. The was an exemplary barrel. Would have bought a case if there had been any left. Alas, this was a bottle from the back that was "on hold" for a customer who was late to the party.

"When I was 65, it was a very good year..."

Ok, taking liberties with the lyrics, but finished these two from 2020.

Did a bit of a SBS tonight. The lower proof one that got emptied drank a bit hot but had that sweet chocolate covered cherry thing in spades.  The other one is a bit earthy and woody.

It’s been raining in the Sierra for over 24 hours. I didn’t know it rained in California. Therefore, the bottles don’t stand a chance.

The W12 and OWA are gone.  About half the WSR remains.  I was going to make up a new batch of my SB blend but was short of W12.  I had exactly one cup of OWA so I added the 1/3 cup of W12 and then added a cup of WSR..  In about a month, I'll know how it tastes.

A month?  C’mon Harry. Your blend should be ready in about another 1/2 hour. 🤗
