Mattk
I purchased the Sagamore from the distillery. And grabbed yet a few more backups of some favorites from random stores on the way home.

TunnelTiger
Had my first pour ever of KC rye last night. Must say it is the smoothest rye I've ever tasted. Nice change of pace.
Skinsfan1311
Whittling down the open bottles. It's a baby Glencairn, so the pour isn't as big as it appears

Skinsfan1311
I'm tired of today's open bottle cull, so I asked Mrs. Skinsfan to pick my next one, and she brought me this. Good choice!
Wedelstaedt
Sipp’n on a store pick of HW Double Rye. This one is finished. I don’t have any experience with the finished Double Ryes. It definitely reminds me of HW Double Rye, but sweeter. Sweet like ripe fruit. It is good. Cheers
Mattk
Starting up the wild turkey rye ladder tonight. The first pour is the 101 and it's already off to a fantastic start.
hughewil
This is excellent. I can't decide which I like better, this, pikesville, or whistle pig 10 year.
kcgumbohead
Grabbed a new one on the recent trip. Starlight barrel proof straight rye (4yrs per label). They are becoming known via finishes and as a winery it makes perfect sense but I wanted to see how they did with straights before venturing any further. I like it a lot, its a 375 and had I known I would enjoy it this much, I would have grabbed 2. I have seen notes of rye toast periodically when folks describe ryes and I love rye toast and rye bread but its never really hit me befroe in the glass, this has it in spades. Its dry but never bitter with a mild sweetness that creates a layering and balance I find very impressive. I like it so much I had a buddy ship me one of their finished whiskies I tried and regretted leaving behind almost immediately but I didn't know much about starlight at that point and figured I'd start small.

I am very happy to see another historic distillery back open and running. I am very curious how their own distillate will taste once it comes of age. I am hoping its good as this is another one I'd like to support, maybe next year.

TunnelTiger
After having a couple pours of GD rye (first time) I find very similar to KC rye. Both are very smooth and easy pours but I really prefer a spicy taste so I doubt these two will be purchased again.

Yes, I had some from a different 7 year bottle. It's good. Tastes like a nice 7 year MGP rye
