Fixin to enjoy another steak in the head chef's absence so starting off with a glass of ECBP C922.  When she's home, we will fire up the grill or pull out the sous vide machine from the garage.  Too much trouble for me on my own so I just sear 'em in a cast iron skillet them cook 'em Redneck Sous Vide style with a small Coleman cooler and an instant-read thermometer.

Went to a whiskey event where an Angel' Envy rep made a cocktail with their rum-finished rye and chocolate bitters.  Very yummy.  Garnished with a whiskey-infused marshmallow.

NL central vs AL central definitely isn't high end baseball, but I'll take what I can get!

I first had the Woodford chocolate bitters at a small distillery in NW Oklahoma. The distiller made a run cocktail with it. So dang good. I bought a bottle there and have had one since.

Whiskey = good.  Chocolate = good.  Whiskey + Chocolate = Extra Good!

The ol' Woodward Reserve!

It's Rock Creek Distillery in Shattuck. They currently have Dead Parrot rum and Schultz Vodka. They're planning on doing bourbon as well. Some good friends of mine (I grew up out that way) and friends with the owner.

Tie a yellow ribbon...

Been on the Murray Hill, BBC Origin & freezer pour MM all week.

Felt I needed old classic flavors to come about, so...

I never fault folks when certain bourbons aren't their cup of tea, but in this case, I just feel sorry for them; soooo balanced...

Drinking a KC SiB store pick that was barrelled on my 58th birthday.  Dang, this bottle is going fast.  Good thing I have a backup.

I've been enjoying the Legent since picking up a couple in that sale.  It's a real easy drinker, almost too easy.

I'm sipping side by side drams of Frank August and Russell's Reserve 13 to try to determine whether the Frank August is distilled at WT.     I'd loved the bottle of FA Small Batch I'd found close to a year ago,  and had been struck by its resemblance to WT,  even as I'd never heard of an NDP hawking WT barrels.   This weekend I finally found one again, apparently of a batch two but who knows,  and a terrific pour at 100 proof.    But does it soar lilke a Bird?

The RR13 is darker in the glass,  but the FA drinks as fully aged.    I'm convinced it's the same juice.  The same notes, the same ideas,  the same feeling for the blues.  Fantastic,  classic WT,   If the WW13 is Coleman Hawkins,  then the FA is Lester Young .

KC12 in the glass.

Cohiba Red Dot in the ashtray.

PGA Playoff on the tube.

It's a very good way to end the day.

I stepped it up a little, with KC15.

It's really good. Is it $70.00 better than the 12 year?

No regrets with the purchase, as I'm really enjoying it, but I probably won't replace it.

KC12 for starters, 2nd day in a row...

Didn't want to digress on second pour so going with a BBC Disco 6 while concocting a supper of ohm rice; probably the 1st meal that I had in a restaurant in Korea back in '77.

I'm sure that's not the right way to spell it, so i spelled it like the I.T. guy that I am. It's basically an omelet with rice & mixed veggies in it ; YUM...

I think they are sold out now. I went back for more and they were cleaned out.

I only know ohm as resistance.  You were having resistance rice?

Actually, an omelet with rice, vegetables, and cheese sounds great.

They can check online inventory of the other locations for you, see if anyone still has some.  It wouldn't surprise me if it's all gone, or just a few stragglers far and wide.
