Richnimrod
Decided to open up a 'new' bottle of Early Times BIB, not having had any of that favored pour in about 5-months. (I have a few bunkered, just didn't have much 'shelf-space' on the "open-bottles" space on my display area.) That was way overdue! I do like this one. Enjoyed 3-short pours over the late afternoon/evening. Still one of the best values going, if you like the distinctive profile it offers. I do, in case you didn't know.

mbroo5880i
Night cap of Rock Town. Rock it Baby! Watching some crab show with hot women on Peacock. Doesn't matter. A few pours in and my focus is on...playing with the dogs. Bully Sticks, snacks, chase, and potty time, We all be ready for bed.
StarSurfer55
So we had a trip last week to Greenville, SC to visit relatives and to celebrate our 49th Wedding anniversary. It was a good trip but on the way down we stopped over in Frankfort and went to the BT distillery on Sunday. It was a good experience and the offerings in the store are in the picture. I am not a big rye fan but I thought I would try the Sazerac as I don't see it in my area (the only rye that I have ever liked is Whistlepig). I was on the last tour of the day and during the tour they announced that the Eagle Rare was sold out. The tour was informative and the guide was very knowledgeablebut it was a bit of History according to BT. My wife enjoyed it much more than I expected and it is a beautiful facility. In Greenville, we stayed at the Grand Bohemian Lodge. They have a good bourbon bar there and made a really good Boulevardier. I had my first try of a Widow Jane and was a bit surprised at the Butterscotch note. I can now take this one off my list.
smokinjoe
Bonded Jack Daniel’s before dinner. If this is not my most repeat buy and go to whiskey over the last several months, it’s damn close.
ThomasGazelle
An all time favorite, that I don’t drink often because the bottles i have of it are all i will ever have of it, with some cookie cake from a graduation party this weekend!
Davesnothere
I did an A/B comparison (see what I did there?) with these two. I'll give the edge to to the A123, but the B523 is very good. I do love the EC profile and to me this one is not ethanol forward, has a nice nose and a nice caramel mid with a sweet finish. Of course I reserve the right to change my mind tomorrow Edited June 13, 2023 by Davesnothere

I have come close a few times but now I just need to pull the trigger.

Of course I reserve the right to change my mind tomorrow Wait Dave, the pour on the left (A123) looks significantly larger than the one on the right (B523). First, after the pour on the right, I believe I would like just about anything. "Oh look honey, there is a snake in the garden! How purdy, let me pick him up." Second, after drinking both pours, I might be able to watch a full baseball game on tv. Of course, I would take a nap between the 1st and 9th innings. Third, that is one heck of a neck pour from B523.
mbroo5880i
Started with Dicket BIB 13 Year Fall 2008. Nice pour. Tasty. Not hitting the spot. Followed by a similar pour and then a smaller pour of Still Austin Cask Strength. This ...ish is solid for a 2+ year old Texas Straight Bourbon. Winner tonight? Me.

Uummmm, it's not really that big of a pour.....it's forced perspective, yea that's it, forced perspective It was a Saturday night and my wife was out of town on business, so I felt it was my duty to perform a serious and thorough analysis. Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
smokinjoe
I had a very nice day at the ol’ plastic factory today, so feeling Super Premium-y for the first pour.

How is that one? My wife brought a couple back from Japan late last year but we haven't yet opened one.

It reminded me of Grape Nuts cereal and buttered toast - very memorable experience.

flahute
Haven't typed this in a long time but yet again on a bad palate night OGD114 is immune once again. Always amazes me. Multiple bourbons don't taste right but OGD114 tastes amazing.

Broken palate nights tend to get fixed with a KC, for me...
bayouredd
WHAT A FRIGGIN DAY!!! Started last night with a storm front unlike anything I've seen before and I've been through 15+ hurricanes - SHIT!!! Weather service said we got over 1000 lightning strikes per hour and that went on for 6 - *&#%@$! hours. I swore I counted every bit of that; but I didn't, just felt it with my dog climbing my a$$ most of it. If that wasn't bad enough, being an I.T. guy, the phone calls started about 7 am. Luckily 95% of my customer base is closed on Fridays. Didn't seem to matter much... Anyway, started the end-of-day, feel-good session with a freezer pour of MM to settle Fri nerves down. Good but not strong enough, so I'm in the middle of some 123.8 Larceny BP. Storms still abound but life looking up just the same. Cheers All...
markandrex
Starting the evening with some standard MM over a few cubes. I decided to drop a bottle of HH 6 yr (old green label). Into the freezer to start the Summer.
