scopenut
Last night I picked up most of the WLW still left from previous years in S. FL. 8 bottles, a mix of 05's and 06's. Needless to say, I'm set for awhile.-Kevin

ACDetroit
I picked up (2) new Handy's today. I also found (2) W.L. Weller Special Reserve (Louisville) 94" on the bottoms. They had one more but it will wait for next time. Now I have 3 Louisville bottles and 2 Frankfort. I read the old posts in the search but did not see a side by side?Is one better than the other? mgilbertva
How do you all come up with so much of the BTAC?I was able to land those because of a source in the VA ABC I've been developing for quite some time now, and it finally paid off. It's a long story. As for whether I like the Saz 18 best - I know you were asking Tony but I loaded up on it both because I like it and it's normally near impossible to get. I frankly don't know which BTAC I like best. It depends on the mood I'm in. I do lean towards rye mashbills, but I absolutely loved the '06 WLW. I like old whiskeys (e.g., Saz 18), but the Handy was mind-blowing. And of course, who doesn't love GTS? ER is the only one I'm not sure is worth the money, but that's me. My brother loves it.I think I'm going to be able to get my hands on several bottles of Handy next week. I can't wait...

Don't get me wrong, it's good but I'd rather save $35+ and buy a bottle of Weller Antique. Just curious on your take.Regarding the ER, I really like it, the '07 version anyway. I haven't had any prior ER's.

mgilbertva
Mark, what's your take on the '07 WLW compared to the '06?I haven't opened it yet. I came close tonight, but indulged in some ORVW 10yr instead. When I do I'll certainly post my impressions, but I think the '06 is going to be hard to beat. mgilbertva
Thanks to a generous and considerate member of this board, I am the proud owner of the 1989 EWSB, extending my collection so that it spans '89-'97, and the '02 OFBB. I'm going to bunker them for now unless I come up with a duplicate, or just break down under the pressure...
polyamnesia
just bought my first STAGG '07 for $53.99 (though with PA tax, more like $57+). at 144+ proof, i'm almost intimidated...and hope to make it through one pour before i open it up with a small dash of pure water... CrispyCritter
The other day, I picked up one each of '07 Stagg and Handy. To Binny's credit, they didn't jack the price up from last year... but not to their credit, it's still quite a bit higher than what Pennsylvania is charging! This year's financial considerations mean that I probably won't pick up an entire BTAC set this year, and a second set is even less likely. At this point, it's looking like one each of Handy, Saz 18, and Stagg. WLW might find its way into my bunker, but I'll probably pass on the ER17. bigtoys
Yesterday, I got the Four Roses Single Barrel and Small Batch at Binny's Buffalo Grove. I also realized it's probably the same distance away from my house as the Highland Park store (that apparently didn't get any 4R yet)

Virus_Of_Life
Various things, of most interest a 9 year old SB Weller 107 DSP1 labeled and a WT American Spirit - I am eating a little crow on that one as it is better than I expected and worth the $79.99 I paid. Now the question is when WTAS makes it to California am I still going to think it is worth the $100 it will surely cost in that overblown market? Also got some four roses various bottlings. luv2hunt
I went shopping today with the intention of bringing home something for another member here....I really don't have a good reason to buy anymore for me. I came home with three bottles of '06WLW and a split label WT12 yr old. I really can't figure out where these turkeys keep showing up from.....but the American Spirit is nonexistant. And....one of the stores liquor managers was nice enough to check with the distributor. According to him....NONE in Indiana. There are NO new listings for Wild Turkey, and NONE coming in the near future!!:bigeyes:
OscarV
Dawn, I know what you mean, it drives me crazy sometimes, I can get WTAS in MI but I can't get any BTAC.Oh well, I'll get my credit card out and shop at eBay.A $150.00 Stagg is better than no Stagg at all. luv2hunt
It would be cheaper for you to drive to Indiana!! Update, the guy called me after I got home....he's going to look into this further :skep::skep: (Whatever that means??)Next Update: It must have really bothered him when I told him the stores in Michigan already had it on their shelves....he called me back again and mind you, it's almost 6pm....to tell me that he got ahold of a distributor in the chain that was a bit "higher up" if I knew what he meant....and he'd find out tomorrow how much a bottle would cost me!! I guess that means Indiana DID get some and DOES have some!!! I'll let you all know tomorrow!
Iluvanejos
Went into a local store today to find some Pappy he said he got in.. Long story short, found three bottles of WTAS listed at $49.99!!! Grabbed all three and a five pack of Pappy 15 bottles. This American Spirit is worth the hype. Very good stuff. I may have a new #1.
