Wild Turkey Tribute. First pour and I'm loving it.

You opened your Tribute? Without your dear brother there to enjoy it with you? Hmph.

I went with my old standby - EWSB, but it's also my favorite vintage (so far): 1995.

Rob, I'm only 2-and-a-bit years from my earliest early-retirement date, and I understand those 30-hour days from my 25 years in the news business. You don't have need for an 'executive assistant', do you:cool:? I'm young enough to learn new tricks, and old enough to understand their worth.

That's a tempting offer Tim, but I already have an executive assistant and she is cuter than you. If she could write as well as you do, I would really be set.

A pink gin. This classic English drink is comprised of gin (I used my own personal blend), a good dash bitters (I used Peychaud's), ice and a little water.

I've tried it neat. I think ice and a splash make it better, they bring out the taste more.

My own-blend of London dry is a combination of Beefeater, Beefeater Orange, Finsbury Gin (a London-style gin marketed in Europe), Plymouth gin, Gordon's Gin, and a little artisan French gin from the northern Flanders area where gin is traditional, which had juniper berries floating on the base.

It is superb.

Talisker 18. Damn good stuff. Smokey, peat, sweet, hot pepper. I really want some tobacco with this.icon11.gif

Yeah, a cigar and a glass of Talisker sounds great. I have some Ashton Cabinets for just such an occasion.

For now, I'm sipping 4R small batch waiting for the call from Binny's that the 120th Anniv has arrived.

Manhattan time ...... Rittenhouse 100 BIB (2/3), Vya (1/3) and a splash of Regan's orange bitters. Stirred over clear ice and poured straight up over 2 large cherries. These go down farrrrr to easy.

Opened the bottle of EC18 tonight and I'm in the middle of a pour and a half. It's hard to describe...there's a little underlying sweetness to it, but very little...mostly the taste is very dark and kinda earthy...and the finish is long. I like it because it's a real change of pace from a lot of bourbons I've tried.

1:1 vatting of Old Ezra 7/101 with Weller 7/107.

They play nice together. Maybe it's because they're the same age.

Went back to an old reliable. Maker's Mark. Been having/trying other bourbons for a long while. It's nice to revisit an old friend. Went down nice and smooth. Joe

Well, started with VVOF 61, ORVW 15/107, then closed with a healthy amount of 2004 B-Day bourbon
